NM Unit 13 help

Hi all, I drew a fourth choice blackpowder tag in unit 13 and I don't really know the area. I was hoping someone out there could help me out with some info on a good place to start scouting. I am not looking for a honey hole just somewhere that i will find some deer.

I had the same tag last year. Wasn't much in the way of good bucks that i saw taken. Where we hunted, didn't see a deer until the last day, but was a good one so no complaints. I think you'll see more deer in the lower portion of the unit by in the forest, around Datil...again, I've only hunted it once so don't have a ot of good info...

Thank you for the response. I did a little scouting just north of datil and saw two does and fork. There was very little sign other than elk and turkey. I am going to look at the area you mentioned just southwest of Datil in a few weeks. It sounds like it is going to be a tough hunt.
