I know everyone complains about late posts from new users

I have been a mmer for 3 years, but can never remember my password and had trouble getting a new one cause my iPad auto capitalized my email and I didn't when I originally signed up. So I just drool over the pictures and enjoy reading all the soap operas .

I live in unit 40. Idaho. But grew up some in Ut and was an Aggie

My brother in law is a novice hunter and I talked him to put in a couple of years ago. My college roommate and I have been applying for elk since 95 without yet drawing

Well, my brother in law is now the luckiest man in Ut. FnG called him yesterday and offered him the late San Juan tag. He called me and wanted to know if he should take it. I asked him if he could take off time. Well, we are going hunting in the San Juan next weekend and are going to have a heck of a good time no matter what happens

My old roommate cant come down till Monday , and I would say he's our elk nimrod. We have already picked out where we want to go and have been given some advice. I read all elk posts and would say that most people say the late hunts are hard to find the bachelor bulls in their hidey holes.

I am not worried cause were lucky just to be hunting in a great unit. My old roommate and I have talked about going down during the early hunt for a couple of years just to see if it's worth the wait to keep putting in for.

If any body else has the tag and would like to share info after they tag out, we would be willing to share as well if we tag out first

Or if any locals or elk diehards just want to chase some elk we only have an entourage of 2

I won't have email next week so if anyone needs help
Give me a call. 208 850 6144

If I were you, I would beg, borrow, whatever it takes to hire BTO (Black timber outfitters). This is a tag of a lifetime and doing that might mean the choice beteen tag soup and a 400 bull. These guys know the area and if there are good ones to be found, they can do it for you. Or you can rely on your "luckiness"

Good luck!
