Does anyone know this person?

I know they are poor pictures, but they're off my game cam (date and times are correct). They were taken in Unit 21, Colorado, near East Douglas Creek. Any help in locating this person would be greatly appreciated.

I am guessing that's not a road huh?

Hopefully someone recognizes him or the dog...

Good luck finding him. Too bad there is not a plate number or something on those dang atv's.

RE: Does anyone know this THEIF?!

No, its not a road. I am disappointed he cut down the BLM signs that say "no motorized travel", and a bunch of pines and live oaks to fit his "Razr" on the pack trail; but I'm really upset he went back in the second day to unbolt my other game camera and steal it.

People should realize... where there is one game camera, there is usually another...

RE: Does anyone know this THEIF?!

Looks as if what's been happening in TARDville is happening in Colorado too!

Sad!

Well sure on the Trail-Cam Comment!

In TARDville they are now Runnin 3 Trail Cams In Sequence just to get Game Pics off the first Cam!

I don't see a gun. The dog looks strapped in so he can't get away. Wonder what he is REALLY gonna go do with the mutt.

How about posting the pictures and story up in the local newspaper. Maybe in the form of an editorial? If its a local it might be a great way to call them out. Here's the papers contact info;

http://www.theheraldtimes.com/contact-us/

They are always looking for a new story to print.

While driving town I'll take a little extra notice of the OHV's.

Find out who the dealers are for the type of ATV it is. Print your pictures or visit those dealers with your laptop and ask if they know who it is. He had to purchase the "RZR" somewhere maybe someone will recognize him. Don't tell them why you are looking for him. make up some bullshit story like he dropped something and you are trying to return it.

Good luck

Seriously? You have any idea how many dealers/RZR's are sold a year?
Someone recognizing the dog will be your best bet, but it will be the dbag's friends that recognize him and will most likely not say anything.

I will "hate" right along with you.
Trail blazers and theives should be tuned up!

Good luck finding him. It would be fun to read about his demise in the paper.

Zeke

PS: smoktem is right, his buddies might recognize him but would be slow to turn him in.

To top it off, I notified the DOW and BLM LEO of where this guy was camped, when he would be back (opening day of elk season), what laws he violated, and what he looked like with 4 days notice. I sent emails and left voice messages with both agencies. No one showed up or responded for three weeks. I followed it up with this email...

"Gentlemen, The person I referenced below was again in the non-motorized area hunting with his OHV at the place I stated below. He destroyed two more BLM signs in the process? intentionally? by cutting them down. Not sure how much more of your job I could do besides pointing out who, what, when, and where, but I'm incredibly disappointed in the response I received."

Then when the BLM did respond here is what they said...

"Thank You for the information and photos we appreciate your concerns and are currently looking into them. The area in question is located in an Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC). However a travel management plan for the area was not completed upon designation which has led to some confusion for the public about which areas are open to motorized travel. Staff is aware of the problem and has begun taking steps to determine the suitability of motorized travel in that area and which, if any, routes should remain open. Again thank you for taking the time to bring this issue to our attention."

Are you kidding me?! He was confused if the road was open or not?!!

Does this look confusing to ANYONE?!?

All I did was provide these agency jag-offs with ammunition to close more roads and exclude more public access.

My wife says I should have burned his camp to the ground and just let them respond to the fire...

Hey CA?

Don't know if you or anybodyelse remembers me posting about a TARD with the same mentality?

This JOKER was back in several Miles on a Trail FLAT ASS CLOSED To Wheelers/Quad Queers!

As I watched him from a distance,He pulls down on a Ridge with one of the little chicken-sshit brown fiberglass signs the USFS hat put up in the middle of the Trail!

He gets off his f'n Quad, looks around 360 degrees, pulls the sign out of the ground & packs it over & sets it in the Brush!

He sure was an Ethical ASSShole though!

When He came back up the Ridge a while later He stopped & put the sign back up!

Funny How the USFS/BLM makes all these Laws & Rules but are too Chicken to Enforce them!

We hate them because they are the antithesis of real hunters. The worst part is this guy will never change and probably has five kids that are learning from him.

Do the job for them and place some boulders there or build a fence for them. It would be a lot of work but if you like the area enough it would be worth it.

quality of perseverance. It overcomes
almost everything, even nature.

Really frustrating. I have seen the same issues and had about the same response.
Sometimes I think it is because of to much space with not enough enforcement officers to cover the areas.
Hopefully they get caught in the act eventually.
Best,
Jerry

One way to read the BLM response is that they put up the road closure signs without having an approved travel plan in place. Clearly this road used to be open to travel, and someone in the BLM wants to close it. If it was a rouge BLM employee posting the road closed without an approved travel plan, then that should bother everyone even more.
I am not defending the person that went through / over the sign. I am suspicious and ready to condemn the BLM for posting roads not shown as closed on their travel plan.
Bill

CA, your wife was right.
When illegal atv'rs and camera thieves have a better than 50/50 chance of getting their atv's destroyed or that camera blowing up, this kinda crap will come to an end.

By law they have to post the closed travel routes and inform the public. If they haven't done that, they could charge the guy, but they'd never get anything to stick, because they haven't fulfilled their legal obligation to inform the public about new travel plans.

It sucks, but that's the law and probably why no one responded.

Probably the same dude that was in the pics responding to your inquiry emails..... SOB probably worked for a governement agency and thought the rules dont apply to employees.....LOL
I would have to agree with your wife. At the very least caught a bobcat, sedated it, and (very carefully) stuffed it in his tent while he was out.

Its actually been closed and posted for awhile, at least the last 10 years I've been going there. People have always parked at the end and packed in with horses or hiked in, this clown was just lazy.
