Holy smokes that thing is tiny. I sure wish they would let them put some age on those young bucks.lol MONSTER!!!!!!!!!!

Holy Moly!
See.....I'd just crap my pants at the first view of a buck like that and then he would smell me and run away! :(

Archerman - Archery hunting addict!

I was sent that pic on my phone it was titled Wasatch front buck 220+
Super buck congrats to the hunter.

Hunters name is Kip Fowler and this is just another great buck for him. He killed it sunday morning and it was on public land. I am sure he will put out the story soon so I won't tell the story for him but I did go see it at his house and it is an incredible buck. The mass just blew me away and it is probably the most impressive deer I have ever seen in the velvet. To me it's mass and character made it even more impressive than the state record archery buck from out by camp williams. He told me they rough scored it at 228". Kip is a great bowhunter with MANY pope and young trophies. He was also very humble about getting this buck even though he put in a TON of effort to get him. He did it the right way which is public land DIY.

Congrats to him on a once in MANY lifetimes archery buck.

here we go .It just keeps getting better .Every deer posted so far has been better than the last .Its going to be one hell of a year .Congrats on a great buck .

YA ITS A DANDY!!!

Gag, cough, sputter, hack!!! Wow, what a buck!!! Major congrats to the lucky hunter. Though it sounds like more than just luck.

Congrats to Kip. I've Known him for quite a while, and thats not his first great archery buck he has killed many.

11 more days, seeing all these deer from other states is just making me chomp at the bit all the more, please let me go to sleep tonight and wake up sept 1st

I have known Kip my whole life, he is one great guy. He puts in alot of time in the hills and does his homework. I know that this buck didn't come from the side of the road, he loves to put some boot leather on the ground.

Congrats to you Kip, you desirve it buddy.

WHAT A GREAT BUCK! I hope he knows his photo is up and can enjoy all the best wishes. What a great public land brute. Sounds like those that know him, know he's worked his butt off for this bad boy.

I've got my $5.95 ready to drop for the story.

OH NO!! When "Bobby" finds out that the Nomad is down, we all have no idea what kind of wrath and fury is going to come from the basin!! One heck of a buck! what a stud. Kip may want to go back to that bucks hide-E-hole and stay for a while. Its obvious bobcat wont be able to find him. :) Nice Job!

Incredible, has everything you would want in a velvet bow harvest! How wide is that monster?

I may be crazy but I think wfm has footage of this buck from a few years ago. If it's not him, it's gotta be a relative. I think there's a snippet of him in Never Enough Vol. 1 going over a ridge.

That's no NE region nomad buck. I'll bet the whole Dairy Keen on that one.;)

Looks identical to me! Hell of a deer, congrats to the hunter.

What an excellent example of a ( CLASS ACT! ) Doing it the right way!

I have a Nevada tag in 221 222 and a lot of work left to find a monster. I can appreciate the time that is dedicated and the miles of packing that goes with it.

This brief description is great to read and helps to motivate me to stay on track.

Being on your own can get a little old some times.

Congratulations!

thanks for the example!

220+, public land, DIY, no movies, no special interest, just a guy getting it done! This buck on a general Utah tag is the ultimate trophy!

Thats a damn fine buck. Done right on Public lands, no fences and do it yourself, you cant beat that!

LAST EDITED ON Aug-21-07 AT 07:17PM (MST)[p]Wow, congrats Kip, what an awesome buck.

wfm,

I'd say there's a very good chance it's the same buck. Pretty cool. Congrats again to the hunter. I'll agree with KTC that's there's probably nothing harder than killing a buck of this caliber with a general tag in Utah. Can't wait to read a story on how the hunt unfolded.

Wow! I can't believe all the publicity my buck has generated!! My name is Kip Fowler and I am the lucky one that harvested this 230" buck on opening weekend here in Utah. I was totally unaware of this hunting forum until a friend of mine called me and told me to look it up yesterday. Since then I have been both surprised and flattered by what has been written about both this deer and about myself. All of the comments about my buck (we have called him Superman all summer) are justified as he truly is a magnificent trophy. I say that not to brag about him, but to pay him tribute because he simply is an awesome buck. For those of you who have paid me some tribute as a bowhunter, I am humbled by your comments and thank you for your kind words.
I can't say too much as I have been contacted by some magazines, etc. (as I am sure you guys will understand)but I can say that yes, he is a Wasatch Buck taken on public land DIY. So far he has measured out at 33" wide, he has 9 points on one side, 6 on the other and gross scores 230". I found him in early July up in some of the ugliest roughest country I've encountered and have been keeping a close eye on him ever since. I will be the first to say that I was lucky to get him, but I also will say that the story behind the kill is one I think you guys will enjoy reading. It's extreme bowhunting at it's best! So, for now, I thank you again for your interest in Superman. I truly appreciate the trophy that he is, but your comments also make this once in a lifetime experience that much more enjoyable as we are all peers and colleagues as avid bowhunters!!! Thanks again! I look forward to sharing the entire story with you as soon as I can!! Good luck to each of you this fall. I hope to enjoy in your success as well!!! Hunt Hard and Shoot Straight!! Regards, Kip Fowler

Congrats on one nice buck. Glad to see an average joe hard hunter...harvest a buck of a lifetime....good job.

Congratulations! That's an awesome buck for sure. Wasatch Front public land, yet every year there is a mass exodus of hunters that head to the southern zone??????

Awesome!!!

Might not be a better looking buck posted all year!

Every deer should have eyegauards like this one.

This buck was shoot north of Farmington and South of Ben Lomand Peak (on the back side). Thats about as much info as i can give you. there is another one that he ran with all summer that i am chasing still, with alot luck, maybe i can connect on him this weekend. Congrats kim, I spent alot of hours watching this buck this summer and it is a truely magnificent animal. You seem like the kinda guy that deserves it too. way to go!

Nice work. Awesome buck for sure.

53 post and not one of them is negitive.

Who was it that said everytime someone harvest a big animal someone will always find something to bring the hunter down.

IMO, it only happens when it is justified.

Great buck and I'm sure It will be a great story to read, hope you post it here after it come out in the magazine, Awesome Deer.

Great buck of a life time Kip. It's nice to see a native Dixie boy go up to the Wasatch and kill the biggest thing on the mountain. I am not surprised ont bit though. You have always been a great bow hunter. I know you deserve it.

One time when I was little, I was hiking in the forest and I saw a big monster and it was still hungry so I gave it some potato chips and I fell into a hole in the ground and saw a princess in a glass case and I loved her and she came to my house and we watched videos and my friend david came over for 2 hours. And then I went into my house and ate some enchiladas and later my mom woke me up because I had to go. It was a hard day for me to play becuase I missed 23 times before I left at 7:30. So I went home and decided to play with my army guys and we invented a machine called the trontorstien which is a really cool you can play with it. And when I was playing it wasn't ready for the game so I gave it back to nathan.

NO WAY! Is the guy only 4 foot tall. That thing is sick.
All I can say is the buck and the hunter are both studs!
Big way to go from Idaho. Ron
