Has anyone heard of a big 3 with a couple of cheaters being taken off of the Books last week? I know I guy from Vernal was after it, just wondering if they got him.

I dont think he was capable of shooting him. I think that he ended up shooting a trophy spike. Wy dont you go ahead and tell the story of this lowlife kylek.

Oh, I know what! That guy that cut me off from the buck I had been chasing the day before and ended up getting a quartering away shot just before dark, and grazed his front shoulder. We talked to these guys that same night and told them I was going after him. But when we returned to look for him the next morning, after glassing further down the canyon where the bucks ran after I shot, we see those same guys we talked to the nignt before going after him, after clearly seeing I had hit him the night before. We then watched him miss from a whopping 25 yards, just after his brother telling us if he got within 50 it was a dead buck! LOL! After he shot the buck took off, and we never saw him again.

You wouldnt think that you would run into a problem like that in a limited entry unit. Anyway I would like to see that buck if anyone has any pics of it!

What part of the Books? Not that *I* drew a deer tag out there, but I was just wondering whereabouts. PM me if you don't want to share w/the public at large.

I didn't want to piss anyone off before getting the info. I don't remember their names, but the brother without the tag drives a big red dodge. I know just cause I spotted the buck doesn't mean he's mine, and nobody else can go after it, but you would think people would have a little more courtesy the day after you tell them you're trying to get on it, after seeing it had been hit, and knowing you'll be back that morning. gdog, how wide do you think that buck is?

That's the one! I didn't see them on the wheelers, but they were in the back, and the truck was noisy as hell. I haven't killed anything yet, headed back out this week. Haven't seen any monsters, but made a few stalks on some good 26" bucks last week just couldn't close the deal. Seems like the big one is just out of range, or you can't see them cause the scrub oak is so thick, and the little bucks with him end up busting you. Hopefully this is the week though!

I've spent alot of time out there and was just wondering what part of my beloved Book Cliffs you were hunting. That's all. Compare notes with me after or not...I don't care. I'm just curious and not about to go tell anyone about some 3 point a million other people are chasing.
Noisey red dodge from Vernal? Could be half the town. Lots of little boys in that town drive big noisey trucks. Lots of KOOL guys in Vernal (eye roll).

well good luck, we killed a 26" 184 inch buck out there by where your chasing that one. talked to those guys think it was them, stick with it and you'll get him be sure to post some pics when you do!
