What calls do you use for cow elk

Herd talk, mews and chirps, and calf distress calls have all worked for me....... Terry

believe it or not I have had great success with a hoochie-mama. I found a way to tweak it a bit and it works good.

The hyper lip single and double I use them both or a regular ol reed I use the primos super dome

Mix it up a bit. Use more then one elk call and sound like a few different elk. I have used most of the calls listed above. Call behind yourself to the side project the sound of the calls to sound like a small herd. Elk sound different and so do different elk calls.

But if ya wanna make them big boys really melt in their tracks, hit 'em with the Mossback "widowmaker"......it was named appropriately!!
