Book Cliffs, anything else to hunt?

LAST EDITED ON Sep-06-07 AT 01:04PM (MST)[p]My brother has the ML tag and we'll be out there in a few weeks. I'm just coming along for the ride and to help glass. Is there anything else to hunt at that time that is available OTC? Of course, my first priority is my brother's hunt but is there anything else I could chase at the same time or afterwards if he tags out early? Doe/cow tags, or even upland?

I'd rather hunt, but the other option is to hit up the Green River for some flyfishing if he tags out early. Any other ideas?

Or you could come on over to my camp and help cape my buck and tip some beers over!! :)

There are a whole lot of rabbits out there. We've had a good time hunting them the past few years.

That sounds good, I might come over, skull crazy you better get buck first

There are a hell of a lot of coyotes! If want to go fish the Green - get ready for quite a drive from his hunt to the River. You have to be up by Flaming Gorge / Little Hole to get any good trout fishing in.

Oh, Doug...I am NOT talking about your camp! Didn't you ever see "The Trashiest Campsite Ever" thread? (and i can't locate it on a search so I'll refresh your memory)

About a year ago in November Bobcat starts this thread about trashy campsites and he starts describing one out in the Book Cliffs and it just happens to be one I know well. So when I went out there for Thanksgiving, I snapped some pics (don't worry...it will get cleaned up).

Thanx for setting me straight Jenn, my feel goods were kinda hurt:-(

I missed that post on the trashy campsite, kinda looks like a homeless person's "getaway home"!!

Not homeless. Wasatch Front hunters. 20 years of deer huntin' and bringing that crap out there and leaving it.

Didn't mean to hijack, pig! I think you better be happy w/the yotes' and bunnies out there or plan on making the big trip into town and then up to the Gorge to fish if that's the plan. That's a big drive though. Enjoy!
