LAST EDITED ON Mar-20-13 AT 03:15PM (MST)[p]I was just working some photos to add to our photo gallery and was admiring this big bull. I should have an elk tag this year in a good unit. How big do you think this bull is?

BTW - Timberline Outfitters in Nevada produced this big boy last year. They're an advertiser here on the site.

The reason I post these is because the bull brian posted is good but his far side looks weak. Im betting that his far side is just as good as the side nearest the camera. The bull I killed, believe it or not, had the following measurements on both sides and was extremely symmetrical. g3's 17", swords 22", g5's 17.5" mass 63.25", width 42" beams 54" and 52".

In the one pic the near side looks awesome and the far side looks weak. This should lend credit to the fact that the bull founder posted is strong on both sides and I would have to put him between 360" and 370".

Hey StinkBug!

Ya gotta Quit Trimmin the Inches off of them!:D

I'm sure you're dying to tell us how much that one cost you stinky..so go ahead..

Dang good bull!!! Hopefully I'll have a tag this year also with 19 points in Utah.

I'll be doing the same as you. Looking at alot of bulls, mounts and asking lots of questions and advise.

Good luck to you in the draw Brian.

I would tell you how much he cost but then a lot of you would realize that there are some really cheap tags out there and my big bull spots would be gone. Lets just say every single person in Utah spends more scouting on their once in a life time elk hunt than I spent on that tag and guide fee. but then again Im good friends with the guide and he took more for next to nothing and the bidding was non existent on that tag and I got it for the opening bid, which was equivalent of a non resident tag price in any western state. Does is make me less of a man to get an elk like that for so darn cheap? hahahahahahahahaha.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-21-13 AT 09:13AM (MST)[p]One more pic would have been nice, but with out adding it all up i will go 358. Great bull for sure.

I studied him before I read what the other posters had to say and came up with 365+/-.
Helluva bull for sure.

Good luck to all you guys who are getting close to drawing. It's going to be a great year.... I just feel it!

I think he is in the 370's Great bull.
Stinky that is a great looking bull, I know I would pull the trigger on him all day long.

gator,

that bull came out of your back yard. when we recovered the broken g1 and re attached it he scored 387. we watched the fight where he broke his g1 so it was a pretty cool deal.

Hey Stinky thats a good bull, but not the best bull to come from that area last year. LOL maybe this year will be your year for a 400+

No, but requiring a guide makes you less of a man. Did he change your diaper for you too? :D

OK Fondler what did it score.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-28-13 AT 09:43AM (MST)[p]I would go 370, until you look at his face trying to hold up those antlers...has to be more like 380 to 390 for him to be struggling like that!

LOL

He's not struggling, he's just got his tough-guy look on! Don't you know that it's the "look" that a lot of guys are going for?

Stinky
I'm going to be checking that backyard pretty close from now on. That's a great bull you got, Hope I get luck and pull a tag close to there, I do have a friend that is a local guy from across the line so maybe this year will be the year.He said he will set it up to hunt where he lives. Fingers crossed.

I came up with 372 - but who the heck knows about these things just from pics??!!

Great bull either way, he scores "opening morning" - that's about all I can say.

HOOK 'EM!

LAST EDITED ON Mar-31-13 AT 11:25AM (MST)[p]That bull is bigger than 99% of elk hunters will EVER kill in their entire lifetime. That's how big he is.

I think he's a 350 class bull, but tough to be real sure from one picture on the internet.

>I'm with most others 365-370
>Great bull.

"Ditto"^ Also, Thomas Brunson over at Timberline Outfitters (Nevada)is a class A outfit. I have hunted deer with him twice over the past 4 years and its an awesome experience. I'm just hoping one day to draw a bull elk tag and then hire him as the outfitter.

hey gator, that was number 5 on the hit list. Number 1 was a twin to that bull that corey knowlton shot. I was on him first 3 days of the hunt at about 100 yards but it was too thick to see and he spooked out every time. Im getting that tag again this year but I won't be around for most of the rut. I will be elephant hunting during the rut. However my Utah elk hunt that starts end of July over in the deep creeks is suppose to be stellar. This may be my best chance at my free range dream bull. That's about all I can post about him as I am sworn to secrecy if I ever want to return.

I guess I will need to snuggle up to Qtip and get that information The HARD way. LOL
Hope you have a great hunt in Africa.
I will let you know if we draw NM.
