Utah Youth Any Bull Late Help

Has anyone hunted this area when putting my daughter in for the any bull hunt the dates on this worked better than the early. I didnt notice the hunt is restricted to a small area not all any bull areas like the early hunt . with 3 points she has a decent chance of drawing and not sure if we should turn the tag back in if she draws its not the area I was looking to hunt .

Not sure what area you are referring to. However, the limited elk units and the youth elk hunt is two separate draws and hunts. Her points don't go into the youth hunt, they go on limited bull draws.Youth any bull is totally random draw.

The youth elk hunts are for youth only until they are 18. There is an early youth hunt and a late youth hunt. The draw odds on the youth late are much worst than the early youth hunt. Way fewer tags issued.

Not sure if this helps or if we are talking about the same thing.

There is no "point system" for the Youth Any Bull hunts. Either the early or late hunts.

RE: Utah Youth Any Bull Late Help

I had one son that drew a youth bull hunt the first year it came out. I think a lot of the people didn't know about it being the first year. My daughter and her other brother put in for it until they where no longer youths and never got drawn for that tag. Most expect to draw it because its a youth tag. Thinking that all youth will draw one. It's not the case. If she draws a tag enjoy the hunt. It wont be a trophy area, but at least they get to hunt a area with less pressure or should I say less people hunting.
Good Luck !

Plus 1 Bigjohn. I have had one of my three sons draw this tag. This year is the last year for my last 18 year old twin. Hopefully he gets lucky. The hunt is a fun hunt, but school does limit the time spent out hunting.

My boy had several chances at bulls, but being a youth and still figuring it all out, he was not sure or quick enough on the trigger. He had a rag horn and two separate mature bulls within shooting range at different times, but them pole pines are tuff, even for a seasoned adult hunter.

One of the best hunts in the past several years building some great memories. May not have tagged a bull, but it was a very successful hunt!!!
