I checked my card tonight and it shows
UTAH BUCKS PERMIT $40.00
UTAH BUCKS PERMIT $513.00

So I drew my Premium Elk permit and Archery Deer

Any body wants to help or got any awesome sheds or know where a giant is on the Fishlake...... Please let me know.....

I would love to see some Giant Fishlake sheds......

I decided to put in for Fishlake this year instead of the usual Boulder since I should have been guaranteed to draw....
 
here's something to get you excited. This issue will be out the first or second week in june.

I wouldnt set my expectations on a 400 bull but 350 is doable with bigger being a possability. I would say average for that unit is 340 type bulls. Good luck, if you have questions send me a pm.

Me and my cousin drew archery elk tags for Diamond Mtn, pretty stoked.

How many points did you have for the premium? I almost put in for that one.

I had 14 points hoping for a Fish Lake Early rifle, still hoping to see my card charged.

Yeah it will be a blast. I decided to use up all my points and just draw where the last couple years i would have been guaranteed to draw for premium fishlake. i will beable to draw again in my lifetime If i draw now instead of years down the road. We have done pretty good on fish lake, if I get anything like my moms or sisters I will be tickled. And. Yes BIG6. I will be seeing ya up there. And that is the bull I wanted, that is one of the best looking bulls I have seen. I hoping to find his twin bro. And yeah Antlerrick is my dad and some people do have all the luck but I finally drew by default on both the elk and general archery deer. So lucky is not me... But I will take it anyday
 
Just 16 points. So I was a few years out on the tags I wanted and have been putting in for the last few years. So I got tired of waiting and fish lake has been awesome for us.
 
Nice, with 16 points I think I would have gone your route as well. A premium tag would be awesome.

Finally got my CC hit. Will be doing Fish Lake early (or I guess it could be my wife's :) )

There's bound to be at least 2 bulls over 300 for the two of us don't you think lol ;)

LAST EDITED ON May-15-13 AT 08:09PM (MST)[p]Rick, I have 18 bison points and 1 rocky mountain goat point . So 19 would be max. But some count the one point they get this year, so I think max point as of this year would be 20 ?
Oh and I did get one deer hit this afternoon. So one of the kids got a deer tag. I don't get charged for my deer tag. So no charge on the card.

The Dew I had for Breakfast wasn't Bad so I had one more for Dessert!:D
 
I had 19 elk points going into this years draw for elk. The very first year Utah went to the point system I put in for limited entry deer and drew San Juan.

Utah would not allow a person to put in for both elk and deer, which put me one point under max for the past twenty years. Does not appear I drew this year and will have 20 points going into next yers draw (2014). Pretty sad and that is one point under max, due to my first year going for deer. However, there is very few people left with max any more!!!
 
Sweet congrats... Maybe we will see ya up there... All three bulls my dad (antlerrick) posted above post 13 and also the Giant on the top post were all Fishlake. So there is still a decent chance to get a good bull.. I can't wait, I just figured out my Vacation time and days I will have to hunt and I will be able to hunt 34 days if I wait to the Last day of the late rifle. Out of 55 days total I will be able to hunt 34 I hope.... plus run up after work a few days i'm sure....


So ya beta watch out ya big stinky bull i'm coming after ya this year to put the smack down on ya.... Cant wait to see it on my wall and fill the freezer up with tasty wapiti backstrap......
 
Congrats. U must be living right. Hope u can help the men in your family out with a huge bull harvest this fall. Good luck.

Looks like I'll finally be the one with a tag. Lets plan a couple lunch breaks at Bowery during scouting season!
 
Called Cabela's and was informed I had the following hits to my card last night at 7:00PM

(3) $40.00 hits - general deer hunt tags.

(1) $50.00 hit - Youth any bull early elk hunt.

(1) $80.00 hit - Limited deer hunt tag.

General deer tags re 3 out of 6, so not sure who or what hunts at this time.

Youth elk is my son. It was his last chance to draw before he was to old (18). This is a great draw and will be a great hunt!!!

Limited entry deer is one of my three sons. Not sure which one or what of the two units that they applied for. Great draw with the points they had no matter which one drew.

No luck for me, but it looks like I will have 20 points for San Juan elk next year. Should be a garrentee within the next two years.

All these bulls were taken on public ground on the Fishlake unit and all within about 1 mile or so of each other.
 
LE Diamond muzzy elk. Hopefully, it will be a lot cooler than the first season elk hunt last year on Diamond!

$285.00 hit this morning. Now I gotta wait to see if it's for me or the kids. Either way it's gonna be a good summer and fall on the Wasatch.
 
muley just let me know when and ill be there i just dumped my cameras on the henrys yesterday going to dump some on the pahvant right now and if i have time ill dump the last 2 on the pauns on my way home. 400bullelk let me know your plans we will go smoke a monster again you lucky sob. Here is a pic of 400 last giant bull. We had a blast on that hunt lets do it again.

Right on Taylor. I am going to try and get a couple of cameras set up this weekend. If I could kill a bull that compare to the Buff, I might just have to give up hunting. I will call you later this week, and see what we can come up with.

Rancher05, congrats on the tag for your brother!! I was lucky enough to draw the same tag last year and had a blast. I ended up hunting with BTO and I wouldn't do it any other way!! The experience far and away exceeded my expectations. I posted a pic and a little about my bull under another thread. Check out the link I posted under "San Juan Guide Info Needed." Rancher05, your brother is one lucky dude! I used up all of my luck last year and drew the same archery tag on the San Juan! I knew that it was a hunt of a lifetime so I hunted with BTO and harvested a fantastic bull. I also had the time of my life! I pray I have the opportunity in my life to defy the odds just once more and somehow do it again!! BTO would be my first call!!I posted a pic and a little about my bull here in the elk forum under "San Juan Guide Info Needed" thread. Shoot me a pm and I would be happy to help any way I can.
