Trying to make the most out of what could be a challenging hunt with all the added pressure from the extra cow permits. I've spent a lot of time muzzy deer hunting up there but the size of the unit makes it hard to know it like I'd like to. Hoping to learn as much as possible from anyone willing to share any info. There's been alot of depressing talk about this hunt. Hoping for some positive input. Thanks guys.

It's a great unit with lots of 300 bulls. You should have no trouble shooting a decent 6 point during the muzzy hunt. You will find a bull in pretty much every drainage in your area.

You must have hunted up there at some point. If so, how did it turn out for you?
Anybody else got any success stories about this hunt? You hear a lot about the archery and rifle hunts but not so much about the muzzy hunt.

I saw a two really nice bulls last year on the Wasatch during the spike elk hunt. They were still bugling all the way up until the last day of the spike hunt. The elk will still be rutting during your hunt. I could have killed both the 6 point bulls I saw with a muzzle loader. The cow hunters were shooting cows out from under both bulls and they never stopped bugling.

Good luck.

I had a Wasatch Muzzy tag in 2011, it was by far the best hunt I have ever been on. I called in several bulls a day. Mostly 5 and average 6 point bulls, but there are some bigger bulls to be had. The rut was in full swing, bugles all day. PM me and I can give you what I know. Don't worry about killing the biggest bull on the unit just go and have fun, you will find bulls. When you find one that you like let him have it.

Over the last 4 or 5 years the muzzy hunt has been the best hunt as far as getting bulls in the rut. It's a great tag to have. You will see a lot of elk on this hunt if you just get off the roads and wander into any canyon. Good luck. Enjoy the tag. I absolutely love hunting the Wasatch.

It's always an adventure!!!

Gettin' more and more excited about this hunt with all the great feedback. The next three months are gonna be long ones.

Been doing a little scouting on the weekends and finally turned up a pretty good bull this last weekend, not to mention a ton of cows and a bumper crop of brand new calves. Call me crazy, but I have just as much fun watching the calves screwin' around as I do watchin the bulls.

I hunting/scouted with a buddy that drew the expo tag up there. We rode 80 miles a day on different roads hiking and scouting. We talked with a few bulls, got into different herds, like everyone else has said, you just gotta put your boots on and get after it. Once you locate them IMO sometimes its good not to call them, correct me if i'm wrong folks. But I hope you can get out there and enjoy the hunt and the tag you have in your pocket.
