I was fortunate enough to draw a NV Muzzleloader Bull tag this year in units 111-115. I am not too familiar with this area and was wondering if there is anyone out there who might give me advice on an area to start scouting. Hunt dates are Oct. 22 - Nov. 5th. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

as I tell friends/clients Do Not apply for units with NO experience and or weapons choices, this usually = "Tag Soup" ... but on bright side,You have a great tag and elk hunt opportunity. Was their on these hunt dates in 2012 and bulls were still a Bugling.Few hunters and lots of elk,Go where their is water and where Quads can not,the elk are there a plenty ... Good Luck ... Bruce & SilverGrand

Be in shape too. Those units can be rough. If you go over to 114 take at least two spare tires with you and word with friends/family on where you're going.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-18-13 AT 11:21AM (MST)[p]azbiggame,
Thank you for the advice.
I am an avid Elk hunter and avid muzzleloader hunter. I am not afraid of a little footwork to get off the beaten trail. I have hunted deer around this area and hiked a little in this area. I plan on scouting every weekend for a couple months before my season, except during archery as I do not want to interfere with another person's hunt. I am just looking for some advice on a good possible area to start doing some scouting, might save me a little liquid gold (fuel).
Good to hear they might still be talking during this time frame!
Thanks Again and good luck to your future adventures!

I have the cow elk Muzzy tag for 114 and 115. Its in mid September so the Bulls should be in full Rut. Shoot me a PM and I'll let you know what I see.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-26-13 AT 09:41PM (MST)[p]Slayer, I had the muzzy tag in 2010 but could hunt 221, 22 also. The bulls were bugling from the opener, 10-20 through 11-1. I hunted Grafton almost the entire hunt but there was one little spot I scouted but didn't hunt, and regretted it. PM me your number and I'll point you to it with a map in front of you.

Good luck, you should have fun.

I drew that tag back in 2005 and hunted several different areas. I would be more than happy to help you out. I will send my email and phone number through PM.
