Any suggestions

My buddy wants to get his dad an Elk hunt this fall for his 81st Birthday. His dad lives in Wisconsin and has never hunted in any other state. He was thinking of trying to get a hunt where his dad could hunt Elk and he could go along and hunt deer. He was thinking Colorado. His dad is in average shape, but as many over 80, he does have health issues. He is not looking for any monsters, would be happy if his dad could get a "nice" average elk, and he could take a decent buck.

So anyone have any suggestions?

Colorado has the most elk per acre in the U.S.

I would suggest an outfitter who could direct (or drop off) his Dad to a good vantage where he knows elk will pass through. Many elk taken this way each Year.

Best of Luck,
Jeff

Yeah, my post should have been more specific, I am looking for suggestions of outfitters people have used and can recommend would be able to accommodate this situation.

But Ya Best Hope it don't ever happen to you!

You should have him look into CWMU permits in Utah. Season dates are usually pretty flexible, and vouchers can be purchased direct from the landowner and they usually offer a guide service as well.
