It is NOT fake! This buck was poached with a bow by a kid a few years ago. I can't remember the whole story but that is the same buck for sure.

I believe that is the buck from the Tooele Chemical Depot in UT. So he is for real, but in that pic, you can see that he's been photoshopped. He was poached a couple years ago by a kid with a rifle who claimed he shot him on the Wasatch extended archery hunt. Scott

If I remember correctly it is real and the buck was poached as mentioned above. I think it was on a military post somewhere or private property and they had recorded his growth over the years. That's how I remember it but I could be off base about it.

Well if he shot it on the military instalation he could have got into alot of trouble. Having a firearm on a military post is a federal offense, i would like to know the whole story. They have some monsters in pinon canyon here at fort carson...One day i will get a tag for it.....

If I remember right, the buck had jumped the fence and was off of the military property when he shot it, but he shot it during the archery hunt with a rifle and tried to pass it off as an archery kill? Not sure but that is what sticks in my crooked brain!

"Having a firearm on a military post is a federal offense"

yes, and under this administration makes you a terrorist and subject to being held without a trial, AND tortured. . .

"yes, and under this administration makes you a terrorist and subject to being held without a trial, AND tortured."

Whats the problem with that? It should also apply to people bad mouthing their own country! GOD BLESS AMERICA and SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!!!!!!

Having a firearm on a military post is NOT a fedral offense. You just have to register is with the base MP's.

Here is the real story, The deer is 100% real, I used to work for EG&G who is the private contractor for the government to get rid of nerve agent. I saw that deer personally many times right off the side of the road on the base. It had a very safe home to get that big. Honestly I would have put the deer at 35-36" wide in real life, now if it has been photoshopped I will leave that up to everyone that looks at the pic. Either way it was the biggest deer that I ever saw and probably will ever see. The deer got the nickname "Cheetos" because he came up and ate some cheetos chips either out of the hand of a worker or off the ground right in front of him not real sure on the details but his name was Cheetos. It is true he was poached, a 16-17 yr old kid claimed he shot it off the extended archery when in fact he shot it with a rifle out of some alfalfa fields that border the base. He got lucky and caught the big guy off base it was just too late in the season. The poacher showed the deer to someone who recognized him from a picture and notified the game officer that something was not matching up. I don't know what his punishment was. That's the real story.

WOW. That is the same buck, or it is a copy. I've seen it floating around and wanted to know something about it. How wide was that buck? Was it really poached?

LAST EDITED ON Sep-29-07 AT 06:47PM (MST)[p]Hey littlebrain2, if you would have read the earlier posts, you would know they said it was real buck, even as in the last few pics posted. But the fact remains that the original picture posted in this thread was in fact photoshoped to imbellish the spread. It was shown clearly in the earlier post a few years ago. He is in fact 35 inches wide .

Fever, having a weapon on a military base isn't a federal offense. Many military folks live on base and have their weapons in the house. i used to when i lived on base in California.

I even hunted on base. There are a number of bases that let civilians hunt too.

The poaching story is real here in Tooele County on one of the Army Depots. Don't know about the photo shop job.
