I know this subject has been addressed here before, but I never heard the verdict.
I'm going to the pauns this weekend to hunt with some friends who have tags. I don't have a tag.
Are all in the party required to wear hunter orange. Or legally are only the tag holders required to wear it.

i called the UDWR after reading the proclamation several times. the "hunter" is required towear a minimum of 400 square inches of orange on head, back and chest. the second the animal has expired you are no longer considered a hunter and the orange is no longer needed. if you are in the party of the "hunter" but you yourself do not have a legal tag, then you are not considered a "hunter" and wearing orange is optional. recomended, but optional.

thats pretty much exactly what i was told.

If it were me, and I wasn't REQUIRED to wear solid safety orange, I'd wear some blaze camo. Like a vest. Alaska (my home state) has no safety orange requirement. When I was younger, I never wore any. Now that I'm older and hunt with others, I wear it more often. I know deer can't see safety orange.

Remember, this is for YOUR protection. You have no control over the emotions, actions, irrational thought processes of others. You can chose the people you wish to hunt with, but you can't screen those other Yahoo's who may be on public (or private) ground with you.
