I've got a couple of heavy mule deer sheds that are bleaqched and a little chalky. ANy recommendations on getting them restored and preserving them?

ive been working on an old one lately myself and what i am doing is filling in the cracks with oak famowood. i havent stained it yet so i dont know for sure what it will look like then but unstained and sanded down, its difficult to tell what is famowood and what is antler.
