Young Velvet Bull

I set up a trail cam near a spring Tuesday night, and like an idiot I didn't check the batteries before I put it out. Unfortunately it died within 12 hours of leaving it out there. But I did happen to capture two pictures of a young 6 point bull, so I am excited about that. I went back up today and replaced the batteries with my 7 year old son. He was so excited to see those photos after the long hike in. I did see another trail cam at the same spring, but I didn't mess with it. Actually, whoever owns it won't even know I was there because his is pointing down hill while mine is pointing up hill. Everybody wins. Enjoy these two photos.

dadgummit. It didn't work, I'll email them to MM and see if they can make it happen. By the way, ignore the time stamp. It should read July 10th around 7:00 am.

You didn't TRASH the other Trail-Cam at 'Your' Spring?:D

This Story happens alot it's True!
But Ya Best Hope it don't ever happen to you!

It was a little tricky squishing him in the box, but he he didn't mind ;) I guess I meant to say I went up with my son to replace the batteries. I never was too good at English.

To be honest, his rant about trail cams and how he destroys them really made me think twice about placing a trail cam and losing it to a vandal (that's a lot of money to flush down the drain). But after talking with my friends, I figured he was just the exception. I have a ton of friends and family who are avid, responsible hunters. They frequently place trail cams in an area of high game traffic to take photos and feed the itch. None of them have ever messed with anyone else's trail cam. So I placed it anyway. I guess I'm just happy I won't have to encounter COGrizz on any of my trails or I would have to give him an old fashioned beat down. And as for his complaint that it is littering, puh-lease. It's not like the trail cams are placed in areas where humans frequent and most of the time they are so low profile that it's a non issue.
