Best attractant for deer/elk

Whose got a favorite attractant salt/mineral lick they use for mule deer or elk? What has worked best for you? Do you prefer liquid or solid attractants?

I have liked to use Vanilla extract the real stuff not the imitation, in sugar water as a spray. The other one I like if I am hunting in pine as a cover sent is Pine oil and water.
