I went up last night with my son again to check the trail cam photos at one of my sites. Much to our dismay the area was crawling with sheep. Hundreds of stinky, noisy sheep everywhere. Boooo!
I still got a few cool photos, but I'm pretty sure I am going to abandon that site. I retrieved the trail cam and will now focus on my other spot. For now, you can enjoy these photos I took.
Here I am with my son hiking out.

A young bull wandered by a couple of times.

And then I caught another bear on the camera. Lots of bears up there.

Are you abandoning it because of the sheep? I've hunted an open bull unit where we have got sheep on our camera and once they are gone, the elk come right back in to the spring. Something to consider. Thanks for the pics.

I'm pretty certain the elk will be back once the sheep leave, but I'm mostly abandoning that site because after two months of scouting I haven't seen anywhere near the number of elk that I have been at my other site. I was hoping to maybe see some big, big bulls at this site, but I didn't. I will have some new photos of a couple big 300+ bulls at the other site soon.
