Northern Utah Smoker 7x7

I spoke to a buddy of mine today who whacked a sweet smokepole buck and said it was ok share his success with the good folks in MM Land. He was the first to admit that it was dumb luck and good fortune that brought him face to face with this buck. He had not scouted the area and had thoughts of leaving for home when he had his first encounter with this buck and two of his buddies. Way to go Brett!

His words:

"Here are some photos of the 7x7 buck I shot yesterday with my muzzle loader. There were two other monster bucks with him. One of them had 6 points on one side (couldn't tell how many on the other side) and the other buck was a 4x4. We were in a heavily wooded area and this buck was the one that presented itself with the best shot. I hit him from about 50 yards".

I have more photos but cant upload due to file size??

That deer has a the body of a BEAST.

I'd glad your buddy is in it for his own personal satisfaction and is not worried about selling his "story" to the rags for the highest $$$. I'm that way too.

Heck, he's even got an excremental grin!!!

NICE! Tell your buddy congrats from all of us here in MM land. I can only hope that I am that lucky here in my home state of WA. Scott

Great looking Buck, thanks for sharing! Sure would like to see some better pics :)

Well that's two big northern bucks to hit the dirt, can only be one or two left in the whole region now. Thanks for the pics!

what a great buck! thats great fro northern utah. how about a generic location????

beat this

Generic location: Northern Utah. I told him to take the location to his grave....that was after he wouldn't tell me specifics...hah hah hah.

Hope those other bucks make it thru the next rifle season, I would then be putting with your buddy for the next years draw LMAO.
That a pretty good buck, I'm happy that he was able to get a nice one.

Here's a few more pics that he wanted put up. I love the mass on this pig. Chalk up another for Northern Utah. Way to go Brett! Brett waited 20 minutes before shooting this buck because there was a 6x? that was with it and both Brett and his friend wanted to shoot both at the same time. Well, as you can tell, the 6x? never presented a shot so Brett took this beast. He never got a look at the other side of the other one...hence 6x?. The other buck stayed behind a tree and they could only see the one side.

There's no way I could have held off that long...maybe 20 milliseconds.
