Shot him at 8:55am. I got the last load to my truck after 10pm. Huge thanks to my buddy Jason who came up to help with the last load.

Very nice. I saw a nice 6 point yesterday morning on the general, but I didn't even get a chance to fling an arrow.

Nice job horsecreek. That is a great bull. We r all having some fever boiling right now after this great post. I was on the wasatch on Wednesday scouting with a buddy who has a LE muzzy tag. We saw a herd of 15 bulls 2 of such were very big, all still in velvet. Thanks for your post.

Thanks for the comments. He was with 10-12 other bulls. One was a smoker bull but he boogied before I could get in position. The smaller bulls were still in velvet. My bull had just left a wallow and was heading for his bedding area....I just happened to put him to bed early.
I got some good video or him pumping blood out just after I shot him. I'll see if I can get it posted.
It's a two hour hike in without a load of meat on your back!

I see your signature says traditional. did you take the bull with traditional archery? Great job.

Nice Bull.

It's public land general tag.
Unfortunately it wasn't with my recurve. I have some really bad shoulders and I haven't been able to shoot as much as I'd like to be confident of a lethal shot every shot, so I used my compound that morning. I feel like I'm cheating on my recurve every time I pick up the compound. :)

Great bull, especially for general. I love 'em when there all wallered up like that :)

Uinta?:D

With the Hotter than Normal Temps It's hard to believe they'd be startin already!

But,if you were like Nicky & only got it once a year You'd be startin early too!:D:D:D

What do you mean by " startin already" Bess? They are alive all year round...just gotta find water and put the tard sneak on em!:)
If by startin you mean talkin, they don't usually do much if that at all in this particular spot. It usually ends up with 2-3 days of bugling, then they shut off or are all on Indian grounds, then they get loud and proud!:)

Wow Horse,

Ton of blood! Where did ya hit him? Hard to tell from the vid but looks like in the chest?

Just curious, can't believe he stood there that long with all that blood pumping out of him.

Way cool hunt for you, even though it ended so quickly!

Thanks again for sharing

I shot him straight on in the chest. It's really bitter sweet to be done this early. At least I'll have some time to spend on deer. Ive never really got serious about archery deer....Good time to start!

So there!

I was going for a 3rd one on July 4th.....but I fell asleep halfway thru....so I didn't count that one.

Congratulations on your bull ,There is just something about a 5 point that looks good!

Congrats on a nice bull! I know from experience how hard it is to kill a good bull like that in the Uintahs, especially with a bow. I like how you told the story with your pics, that worked out better than a few paragraphs of info, in my opinion. Thanks for sharing

Thats funny!

Sorry, "That's"
