Hello, I'm just trying to gain as much info as I can. I have the Panguitch Lake Archery elk tag and have only seen one elk the whole hunt. Has anyone hunted this unit before? Any info would help. Thanks.

Try looking up high. Seen a bunch on the Red Desert or Tippits Valley. Good Luck, feel free to pm me if you need more help.

sls - That's great of you to offer hints and help. I'm sure he appreciates it more than ever. I actually have a Pauns early rifle tag in hand and didn't want to ask anyone for pointers due to what I've seen of the answers in the past.
Good for you...

Horse Valley and Little Valleys/Hayc0ck Seems to have elk in them pretty regular. I really like the saddle between them on the east side of Horse Valley, if you are facing east(sitting in the notch) there is a spring to your left about 600 to 700 yds or so in the bottom should be a wallow right there too Manmade about 8-10 years ago and a 2x4 stand up in the 3 pine trees above that wallow(wouldn't trust that stand unless you know for sure its still good).
That ridge that runs between the forks of Hayc0ck all have some good stuff in it.

The Blowdown is a good area behind Horse valley, Hard to get into and out of.

hell I will never draw it for elk, But I love hunting deer there.
It just what I see when I camp there and hunt there.
That wallow was a small trickle of water we dam up for a water source for deer it is about 4ft wide and 10' long we built using rocks from around the area, the elk just made it deeper and wider, It was great watching the elk come in during Deer ML season saw some monsters.
