Nevada Rifle Buck (Video)

Ryan, aka pinenut gave me an invite to tag along with him on his Nevada hunt. We glassed alot of deer until he found this buck and the stalk was on. I had to have him show me the buck in the spotting scope before I saw it. The buck was laying down next to some shrubs at over 1000 yards. It was a pretty amazing spot by Ryan. One I won't soon forget. After getting to the buck, we realized neither one of us had flash lights Being over 2 miles up in a roadless area with 30 minutes of light left is NOT a fun feeling. We decided to gut the buck and come back in the morning. With the light fading fast we started off the mountain and soon it was pitch black. I am still amazed we got out of there and without sprained ankles or falling on our butts.

All in all it was a great trip with some great company. Ryan put a tape to this buck and he scored 175 inches. Congrats man!

That was outstanding footage, I can't believe how he rolled like a ball! Hell of a Deer, and good shooting. Sometimes it takes those big Bucks a few minutes to realize that they are dead.

Thats a great buck , wow! I think this is one of those cases where the pics just do not give the buck due justice , he looks big. No broken points , OMGosh I was feakin out , thats was wild. Awesome video. I can't believe he didn't break something. Congrats to Ryan. I met him once out in Lehi looking at the "General" by camp williams. Really nice kid. Thanks for the nice words about the video and buck...it was indeed a great hunt.

I can't believe how great that footage is...I need to get a setup like yours Brandon. I knew you had the camera on him but I didn't think the footage would be so cool from such yardage. I also am very impressed with you being able to move and get all 3 shots on film and then keep it on him as he rolled, thank you for catching it on film. You should also share one of those pictures you took of that bull a couple of hours before the buck was spotted.

About the not being busted comments...I must admit that the deer did indeed break the entire G2 off the right antler during his tumble. We located the broken tine pretty quickly and it broke in such a way that you could set it on the antler and it would stay if you didnt move the rack (hench the pictures of it in place). Brandon you should post one of the pics that shows the break if you want to.

Lastly, in addition to catching the great video for me I must tell you thanks for the company on the trip Brandon and for packing out a good chunk of the deer...I couldnt have done it without you. Good luck this weekend in Utah.
