Just got back from helping my good friend fill his Central Utah buck tag. This is the first buck deer since his accident 13 years ago. Not the biggest buck we saw on the mountain, but a trophy none the less.

Great Job Brett! and Thanks to all those associated with the DWR and different groups that made this early disabled hunt possible. A big thank you for this quality experience.

Awesome! Congrats.
Proof that that no matter what life throws at you it only stops you if you let it. Nothings stopping you Brett, you are an inspiration to us all.

Every time I get out in the field with Brett I am inspired by his great and can do attitude.

He made a great 1 shot kill at 241 yards dropping this beautiful buck in it's tracks.

Can't wait for my turn this weekend.

THE ONLY bobcat THAT KNOWS ALOT OF YOU HAVE HAD THIS IMAGE IN YOUR PEA BRAIN BUT DUE TO POOR SHOOTING TACTICS I'M STILL KICKIN!!!

Congrats!!! I hope he has many more opportunities at hunting in this state. I support the disabled hunter regulations and I think its photos like these that really remind us of how great we have it hear in Utah. Thanks for the photo cowslayer, this is a great post.

Awesome Brett! Nice shot too! I'm glad to see you're passing the tradition along to your little guy. He'll remember the times you spend hunting together forever.

That is awesome Chris! Way to step up and help out! If you ever need help packing out etc, let me know. I would love to get involved. Maybe next year he will want an elk! Congrats to your friend and a very nice trophy!

Thanks for the pic and story. Awesome!!!

The young guy is likely hooked and it is very neat that the DWR does what they do.

I don't know Brett, but he sounds like a very inspirational person!!! Congrats on a true trophy!!!

Great Job Brett! Looks like your guide was able to put you on a good one. And it sounds like you made a great shot. Can't wait to get out in the trenches on Saturday. Its awesome that the DWR lets the Disabled Hunters out a little early. I'm glad you got one, congrats on a good kill.

Hey Brett and cowslayer, first congrats on a great TROPHY!

Second, there is a group that helps disabled hunters have great hunts. I would be happy to get you in touch with them. My buddy went on two lope hunts and a mule deer hunt in Wyoming, and an elk hunt in Utah, I believe he has a Colorado deer hunt lined up as well. Shoot me a PM if you are interested! Congrats again on a great trophy!

I was really happy to hear that Brett bagged himself a buck, and almost just as happy to hear CS got it filmed-hahahahaha ;)

Congrats to both you and Brett, I know how much time you guys have put into it!

Well now to see if it is good "enough" to see if "Spielberg" can use it in his next upcoming flick.

It's here when you want to take a look. I think people would enjoy going along for the ride and seeing just what an accomplishment this was for Bret.

Awesome story. Great buck! What great friends. I am going to try and get Nebraska to do the same. I am hoping to start a Wounded Warrior "chapter" in Nebraska and try to get this sort of thing done. Not only that but a season just for this. Thanks for posting, it makes it burn into me even more now. GREAT STORY!!

L2E,

I wish you good luck in the establishment of the Wounded Warrior Chapter in Nebraska. I can't say enough good about the early general rifle season for disabled hunters. I know that Bret really wants to take a buck with his cross bow, I wish the state allowed this type of deal a couple days early with a cross bow during the archery hunt.

Zigga, that is funny, I didn't realize he looks like he is either going to throw-up or have an accident. I just know the little guy didn't like the thought of getting blood on him or touching the bloody deer.

Good Job my hat is off to the disabled hunters who dont ever give up no matter what. Looks like you had a great hunt congrats.

Inspiring! I hope the footage gets out extensively.

Congrats to all who made this possible; mostly to the man who has the courage to "cowboy up" no matter what life laid on him.
