Wasatch Tag turned back

Just wanted to say best of luck to whoever might get a call from the DWR for a Wasatch Tag that got turned back in.

My old man drew the tag and just as we were gearing up for it, he had an auto-immune disease flare up. Basically his body decides to kill all of his platelets, so if he gets a cut or anything it doesn't stop bleeding, and blood can pool up as a bruise with the slightest amount of pressure. Not to mention internal bleed issues . . .

Seems we deal with this every few years, so of course it happened again when he drew his elk tag!

He is recovering again now, but his doc didn't give him the good bill of health we were hoping for.

So good luck out there. Maybe you can give us some pointers for the area next year.

Sorry to hear. Hope he recovers quickly. Hopefully he has the points to pull the tag again next year.

Sorry to hear that atleast your able to turn the tag back in.Hope he has a full recovery.

Good luck to your dad man. I'm going up to the Wasatch this weekend to help my cousin with his tag. My dad has an auto-immune disease and has been on disability for years, dealing with his health. Luckily this year he's going to come up with us, run his oxygen off of the generator, and enjoy the sights and sounds at the trailer while we're out chasing them. I know how important it is for them to be a part of it.

Good luck with his health!

My wife has the same medical condition. Hers has been in remission for a couple of years now but we nearly lost her in 2002 and again in 2004. Hope that your Dad recovers well. If he doesn't respond well to Steroids, try asking about Cell-Cept which is used by cancer patients... side effect is high platelet counts. My wife's has been in remission since she started up on these.

That is too bad to hear, pookiebar. LE tags are hard to come by but our loved ones are priceless. Best wishes for your dad.
