cody tips - south fork

i posted a last week about south fork road, thanks for the help. anybod have any last minute tips for the area? any landowners want to share any "local" tips? we are heading out thursay morning. we will be in cody thurs night.

just one thought---if you need a great place to stay--check out the mcniel ranch --it is on the internet. they have great rates and rooms and the ranch is located 18 miles up the south fork--near castle rock ranch--it puts you in a great location to hunt the south fork---just an idea---we also got snow on saturday--so that should push the deer down a little--carter mnt already has lots of snow--good luck

Muleemojo did you guys have any luck down the South Fork? I just got back this morning only hunted 2 days, how was it?

About 8 years ago I shot a buck about 200 yards out of the three bears trail head the buck was living in the patch of juniper and rim rock right along the road strangest thing.He had to have 100 guys drive by him every day and 5 guys park and walk in and pass him up.My brother saw some very nice bucks up elk creek "I think that was the name"he hiked in 3 miles and camped up there so he didnt half to walk out every day.Dont pass up any 24"bucks up there all the locals say that is a big buck,that the genetics for a 30" buck are not there like they are down south.
