After a 7hr mule ride, weeks of planning, months of practicing, and years of regret from eating tag soup in a LE unit? I finally sealed the deal on Labor Day morning with an OTC tag. There wasn't much talking, so this was a spot n' stock hunt. A 30 yard shot right through both lungs and the heart dropped this guy within sight. It sure feels good to get the monkey off my back!!!

Congrats on a well deserved bull. That is definatley one of the toughest hunts in Utah. Good to see another MM guy harvest a Uinta bull with a bow. Thanks for sharing.

South... Was your bull up there?

North slope or south slope? Sweet

Way to go. We tried chasing a couple bulls the whole hunt up there, but it didn't ever pan out. Hopefully they just get bigger for next year. Very silent where we were. Very tough.

Congrats!

I've done the 10 mile deep, OTC highcountry Uinta archery elk hunt. I say congrats with the most sincerity and respect I can. That is one TOUGH, TOUGH hunt. My hat is off to you. For those that have been back there pack'n a bow, they get what an accomplishment this really is!

I grew up hunting the Manti, I now hunt elk on the North slope. It is amazing the difference in horn color in Uinta bulls vs. Manti bulls. Your bull, and the ones I shot are DARK brown, and in my opinion pretty. The bulls I have killed on the Manti are a light brown almost tan. Killing good bulls in the Uintahs is tough, GOOD JOB!!
