This is my wifes first buck ever It may not be the biggest deer but it's filled with very good memories. She took this buck with one shot at 250 yards. I'm very proud of her. Not too many of us on here have their wives hunt with their husbands. I'm glad my wife enjoys the outdoors as much as I do.

This next buck we had seen twice in the last two months. We saw him and two other bucks running through the pines above us just as we came in to an opening. They then went straight down the canyon in fron of us. I was able to take him just as he crossed the stream going into the thick aspens. WOW he is my best buck ever. I have no idea what he scores I really don't care. He's good enough for me.

those are some great bucks congrats, and you are a lucky man to have your wife love the sport as well. No matter the size of the antlers it is the memories and the company which make hunting what it is.

Great deer!! Nice to have a close hunting partner! But how did you upload your pics?

Good job she got her first and you got your largest to date just cant beat a hunt like that.
Thats great.Looks like the area you told us to bear hunt that one year is it?

Wait a minute here!

You made her take the smaller one? You should of let her take yours!

Just kidding. Congrats to both of you. Wish I had my wife wanting to do this sport with me. I'm in envy...

Congrats to both. I am trying to talk my wife into just coming along with us to camp.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-24-07 AT 08:34AM (MST)[p]Sorry about the big pcitures, A couple of answers from some PM's that I got from you guys.

This was a northeastern unit public land.

He weighed 225 dressed.

Warbirdum.. It was kind of close to where you got that black bear with in two miles.

I saw one other big 5x4 in the same area not as wide but a lot taller

And here is one other pic of it.

HEY ARCH, from afar I saw your little experience happen! The deer you shot was not a resident deer of the canyon you shot him in! he was migrating from a place a few miles west of where you got him! The third buck in the group was killed by a guy in a red ford truck a little later that evening! Not many people where up that canyon monday, but if you recal on your way out- you did pass some hunters in a silver toyota tacoma! I was back packed in to the top of the ridge west of you and could see just about every deer moving through there. lucky for you we didn't pop that guy! still waiting for something bigger.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-24-07 AT 04:34PM (MST)[p]CP,

Well I do hope you get something bigger. Are you looking for a particular buck? Were you up on the cliffs to the southwest or on the open ridge across from us to the north? We talked to the guys in the red truck earlier in the day, we're glad they got a deer. I can't wait to see what you come out with. More power to you CP can't wait to hear about your "little experience". If I were you I would be out hunting and not sounding like "would have could have should have".

LAST EDITED ON Oct-24-07 AT 09:02PM (MST)[p]Sorry arch, but I already killed a much bigger buck on the muzzleloader, and I was up there with my wife- its her tag! If I had my way we would still be on the mountain hunting some of the other deer I know are up there. I wouldn't take anything from your buck- its a good one- I just liked your story and had to coment on it with my point of veiw. so CONGRATS! All I will say as to where I was is that I was on the opposite side of the creek, and on top!

CP,

I would love to see your muzzle loader buck. I wish you would have stopped us or by our camp so we could have talked. I really would have liked for you to see the other bucks we have on our game cameras. If you want we would really like for you to check out the biggest of the bucks we had seen in that canyon this year. There is no need to be so secretive on where you were in the canyon. We just happenned to be at the right place at the right time. Then I guess you saw us stop two different times checking out the pines where the deer came out of. We saw and heard a lot of movememnt in the pines thats why we stopped. It seems to me that your wanting to rain on someone elses parade. No big deal it's only water. I hope your wife fills her tag...honestly!
