Has anybody had any luck in Unit 34 in Colorado? Possibly looking into this unit for next year's archery season. Any tips would be helpful.

I hunted it for deer 3rd season a few years back.
We saw some really nice bulls, the biggest a 5x7. 320 range. They were batchlerd up by then. Saw them in Grizzly canyon or creek i cant remember. just remember Grizzly. Rough ass country!
Buy a bear tag! We seen more bear than deer in the five days we were there.

I couldn't tell you on that. They would have pulled the sheep off by the time I got there. Usually here in Utah they pull the sheep off in mid Oct. I would not rule it out if you have heard something about it. It's funny you mention sheep. As I have observed and discussed this topic with my hunting buddy's of witch one is a sheep owner.
I believe ( and have seen ) that when sheep are in a canyon that the deer ( and elk) move out. They may only be over the next draw but seem to be just far enough from the sound of a 1000 baaaas baaaaa baaaas" . I was archeryhunting a buck that I had seen all summer on my families ranch. The opener I had him at 100 yards but as close as I could get that day. I was confident I could get on him the next day so I didn't press the issue. Guess what..... Sheep the next day! I never did see that buck again.
Moral of the story........ Sheep stink and are annoying......nothing wants to be around them! So hunt away from sheep. There is a lot of huntable country on 34. I don't think you will have a problem finding some in he next canyon over

How is the access around there? Can you get away from the roads and other hunters?
