Just wondering if anyone has hunted in these unit during the fourth season? Also is it worth buying an out of state tag for? Not looking for a hot spot, just wondering if its worth the money? Any info would be nice.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-31-07 AT 10:51PM (MST)[p]It depends how much you value the ability to go deer hunting at the last minute?
I lived in Fort Collins for over 7 years and have hunted all 3 units. Unit 9 is completely private so unless you have a connection or are willing to fork out some dough I would look into 19 or 191, Those 2 units have a lot of public land (19 more than 191), deer numbers are fair and pressure in some areas is moderate to heavy. 191 has a lot more glassable open country than 19 (which is heavily timbered) so it depends on your style of hunting. Unless you want to wade across the Poudre river (not a bad idea) major access roads into 19 are Stove Prairie rd., Pingree Park rd., and at the top (of Poudre canyon)is the Long draw rd. Going into Poudre canyon 191 is on your right (north) and areas like Hewlett Gulch can be accessed right off HW 14 (Poudre canyon) as well as just parking along the road and going up into the hills. The Lower, Lone Pine and Middle units of Cherokee park hold deer and are starting points that canbe accessed off the red feather road or cherokee park rd. Some of the lower areas of these roads are private so pay attention. Hope this helps, ask if you have any more questions.
