Here are a few pictures of the bucks we shot in the Book Cliffs this year. We definitely seen bigger bucks then we ended up shooting. But we were their for the whole hunt so you always think your going to see bigger. Overall though it was a really good time with the family and many friends that popped in. Like others have said their are allot of big 2 x 2 and 3 x 4 in the Books. I think they need to have some type of management hunt to get rid some of these mature bucks. I herd that a Major guide service in the Books didn't have much success either this year just a rumor though?(3 tags left on the last day). I will post a couple more pics of some other bucks we seen close up when I get a few minutes.

Nice bucks. congrats When you get some time start another post about that rifle

You hunt with the .50 cal? Great pics! Looks like the Dad killed a book buck. I'd love to hear more about the rifle as well!

FINALLY!!!

SOMEBODY SHOOTING A GUN BIG ENOUGH FOR THE JOB!!!

ALOT OF PEOPLE THINK THEY'RE GONNA SMACK 30"+ BUCKS IN THE BOOKS ONCE THEY GET A TAG!!!

30"ERS ARE TOUGH NO MATTER WHERE YOU'RE AT!!!

HOW WIDE IS THE BUCK IN PIC # 4???

NICE JOB!!!

THE ONLY bobcat THAT KNOWS ALOT OF YOU HAVE HAD THIS IMAGE IN YOUR PEA BRAIN BUT DUE TO POOR SHOOTING TACTICS I'M STILL KICKIN!!!

Nice bucks indeed.. and that one in pic #4 is a good one.. Love that 1000 yard elk banger.. Congrats to all..

A little confused here. Who's buck is the 4th picture, wow what a stud

If all else fails. Work on the joints -n- stuff

I agree with the idea of getting some of those duds out of the herd... I saw 5 bucks that I would consider "shooters" out of 100+ bucks I saw during 3 days there. Of those, three are dead, including the two my friend and I took, (below). The other was a 30"+ buck that escaped for someone else to chase next year.

This is my first time posting on MM. The fourth photo doesn't belong to our party. For some reason when I was uploading photos that one popped up. I'm sure it's another pic on MM somewhere. I can't figure out how to delete it though. The 50 cal belongs to my uncle it's a very sweet gun. Let me know what you want to know about the gun and I will get you answers. He shot his late Sunday and had to go get it Monday. When I get pics of his I will post them. From what he says his makes the three we shot look like babies. So we will see soon...

Now that's funny. Not very nice, but funny.

Well it looks like you guys had a great hunt in the books. That gun is bad ass, I want one of them for christmas!

My guess would be the old school "slit the throat and cut off the nuts" of any dead buck as soon as you walk up on it. My grandpa always used to do that. I don't get it either.

Awesome pics and congrats on a great hunt. Can't wait to see your uncle's buck.....
