I'm going to go with pedestals for my next trophies.
Here are some good examples of quality pedestal mounts...

Buckshot

Someone asked what buck I was having mounted, so here it is for those who haven't seen it. I was very happy with this buck for a leftover tag area.

here's one of mine not a sneek position but I like the mount. I have a couple sneek mounts but I don't like them near as much as the other positions.

The Muley was done by Glean Miller, Evanston WYO. The guy is an artist, IMHO. The blacktail was done by Hap Haptonstall of Ashland OR. I really like both of these mounts.

I figure when a buck is in the sneak position, his attention, and hence his ears, will be directed forward.

My best on to date---I hate it when so many get killed on the winter range every year and I'm a guilty party of that(P.S. I did harvest this one during the season though}

jag, that is a sweet looking room. Forgot how good batman looked. You ought to post a rear view of him.

I cant post pics of mine because it has 15" bases and the owner
told me I couldnt show anybody. But it really really has 15"
bases. The other day a turtle ate all my mounts.

Sorry guys I couldnt let a post go for to long without a 15"
base or a turtle comment

Here is my favorite mount. It is one of my grandfathers from back in the 30's. He was still in the velvet in late November when my grandpa shot him. 7x9 at 36" outside spreed. What do you think that he would score. I hope that it will be hanging in my home some day and not in my uncles.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-20-07 AT 07:35PM (MST)[p]I'm in the same boat, looking at a full sneak mount on my buck. But damm, those pedestal mounts are sure tempting. Just not quite enough room for one...

Right now I'm still on a full sneak with one ear slightly back.

I really like Jagrmyster's two mounts on the right, the sneak and the pedestal. Nice.

jagrmyster, any close ups on those two?

knockmdead that looks like its a cactus buck and it probaly is if it had its velvet in November

jagr, I love your trophy room pic. You have some great mulies yourself and I love the pedestal. I was lucky on my buck. It grosses 212" and neets out 204 6/8". I lost 4 1/2" on the spread credit.

daverp,
Heres a couple of the sneak buck.
Dont rule out the pedestal mount because of space. They really dont take up that much. You can move them around the room to change things up and its pretty cool to have them at eye level.

Hey jagrmystr I think I have the exact same pedistal at my house. With my buck on it LOL. Ps what are you doing with your Ram from Canada?

LAST EDITED ON Nov-21-07 AT 09:06PM (MST)[p]well if you are going with a "CURIOUS" stalk have both of the ears flat out with the head down low. but if you are going for a "GET OUT OF HERE" type of stalk have both of the ears back against the head with the neck stretched all the way out and the head up. i have seen this done and it looks so cool when you put others with it as if they were all trying to figure out something.

Hey lets see that big bad boy now that its all together.

I thought I might do a nice european mount on my ram. Or even better, one of those mount your own buck kits with some green velvet......or maybe red.....yeah red !

LAST EDITED ON Nov-22-07 AT 10:48AM (MST)[p]Here it is I think it turned out pretty good! sorry if the pic turns out I can't figure this computer out. By the way have a happy Thanksgiving.
