Mule Deer behavior

OK guys, help me out. I have been arguing with some of my hunitng buddies that Mule Deer dont respond to calls like elk or White Tails. What do you all think, can they bee called in?? Am I missing something?

Grunt call works in the rut, but only for smaller bucks, all the big guys are with the does....

Not nearly as easily, but you sure can.
Grunt calls, and rattling will work. But like I said not very common and not easy.
I shot a buck with my bow a couple of years ago that was called in by another buck. I watched a small buck grunt and rub a tree...low and behold here came a bigger Muley to see what was going on. I was able to put an arrow through him.

It can work very well at times. Just like with WT. If you see a buck cruzin try it you may like it.

Ditto what monster said. Works well sometimes. Seems more small to midsize bucks come in to a call. Works on blackies too.
Rattling bucks in sometimes works also. The problem is if your archery hunting rut or post rut it will work but they always seem to know exactly where the sound came from and they sometimes come in quick. With rifle no problem.

i have tried it, during every part of the year and it has only done one thing, SCARE THE DEER AWAY, OUT OF THE COUNTRY AWAY!

Easily expainted. You have bad vibes. To cure yourself build a smokehouse/ curing house or lodge. Build a hot but quick fire. Place some type of hallicinagenic root or mushroom on the embers and inhale deeply. Watch out for bigfoot, chupacabra and space aliens. As they show up quick.

Mule deer will respond to a call on occasion. Don?t go blowing it like a duck call and don't blow it like you do when you are elk hunting. You need to be in thick cover so the deer can't see you. Because once you blow it they know exactly where you are. Anything out of the ordinary and they will exit the country just like deserteagle says.

Smaller bucks respond better than larger bucks.

Here is one I killed a few years ago using a call on the last day I could go hunting. I also called in two others that I couldnt get an arrow into because of the thick brush.
