Bulls like does?

Saturday night I went looking for rutting bucks here in northern Utah. I came up on 3 bulls and realized that they had 9 does surrounded. They were trying to herd them and one of the bulls was getting ready to mount a doe. It was pretty funny as they saw me it was like they knew it wasn't right and they separated and went their separate ways. I was too busy figuring out what was going on and only got this pic but still pretty cool. Has anyone heard of bulls trying to mate with deer?

Two years ago my wife and I saw a bull elk following a cow and calf moose, like 10 yards from them. I though that was strange too. Crazy Bulls!

Several years ago now, I had this unusual experience:it was late October, mule deer rut just staring to get going. I caught a glimpse antler in thick trees and some does. I thought I was going to flush out a really big buck. I determined there were around 6-8 does. Instead of flushing out a big buck, I was amazed when out stepped TWO small bull elk! The does then kinda lined up single file, and took off, with the two bulls right behind them, followed by another doe,and bringing up the rear of the group, a nice four point buck and a small forky! I'd never seen anything like this, or heard of elk and deer mingling like that. The only thing I could think of is maybe a couple of the does were in heat, and both bucks and bulls were attracted to them.Go figure!
