I was scouting for deer in central utah this year and watched a golden eagle dive and kill a mule deer fawn. I was wondering if anyone else has ever seen this before.

Saw the same thing on a muzz hunt in Ruby Mtns Nevada a few years back. Quite a sight to see.

My father says he saw same thing over near Fishlake Utah one day quite a few years ago.

they pick up small dogs & cats to you might say fast food. something to think about! rick

Yep, and I've seen the buggers kill antelope as well. They are big-time predators. Sometimes the coyotes just watch for eagles and follow them because the eagles are such good predators.

Here in Willard I have watched them chase the mountain goats around. I think there trying to chase the kids so that they will fall off the cliffs .I have watched them for hours but have as of yet seen one fall. But I am sure that is what they are doing.. When they start doing that the mountain goats will go into the pines or go out onto the steep cliffs, I think on the cliffs the Eagles cant get close enough to bother them other then land by them and wait for them to move again..

I saw one flying low in the west desert when I was coyote hunting. As it came closer I noticed it was chasing a rabbit. When it got to around a hundred yards I noticed a coyote had joined the party. I sat there and watched the coyote and the eagle chase the rabbit in circles until the coyote caught the rabbit. It than ran off with it screaming in his mouth. I didn't ever fire a shot I was so mesmerized. I tried to put a sneak on the dog and it only took him 5 minutes to eat the whole rabbit and it was off.

Heck yes!!
I have witnessed this myself, and it was the wildest thing i have ever seen.

And i thought witnessing a lion kill a deer was something!!
