What does this bull score?

Do you pull the trigger on him in the Pahvant MZ?

Not the best pics but for 800 yards I am not complaining.

I am no expert but the bull seems to have long main beams, decent fronts, good thirds, great back, and good mass so I would put him 365-370 maybe a little more. Great bull for sure.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-05-14 AT 07:11PM (MST)[p]Im not sure where you guys are coming up with 360-370.... Comparing his MB's to his body they aren't extremely long but possibly in the 50 to 52 inch rang . Good fronts.. so so g4's, and weak g5's. I'd guess him in the mid 340's to possible low 350s. From what I can see in the picture anyways.

h2-8
h3-6
h4-5
left:

Yes I would shoot him on that mzldr hunt.

Let me guess, you drive a 1 ton with oak trees for smoke stacks, 12" lift kit and 40" tires to pull a single place lawn mower trailer?

Figuring 335-350. I'm giving it a 5% window due to not being close enough to really judge body size well.. Big and old can make a big difference just by adding an inch to every tine. Shooter in any season for me.

In some of the pictures, ide guess he is 355 to 360, then some other pictures he looks smaller. But ide go with 355. Very pretty bull. From what I heard that unit was like last season, I would shoot.

800 yards with a smoke pole? Only if you got one of those new fangled Gunwerks jobs and the skill of Quigley!

But yeah, at normal MZ ranges he's a shooter.

I pass on this one. But

If score is what your after then I think he breaks the 350 mark.

I personally hope that when I draw an elk tag that I can shoot a perfect matching 6x6 and this bull doesn't seem to match on his back end like I would want.

Great Bull for sure and I am not trying to take away from him.

I think I will only have one chance in my life so I want a certain look.

I wouldn't worry to much about him not matching up. I'm sure by the muzzy season a lot of that will be busted anyhow..lol

As mentioned, these photos were taken on the Pahvant Muzzy hunt when my Dad had the tag in 2012 and I KNOW if we would have had a better opportunity on this herd bull we would have taken it because it was a tough hunt but it was not in the cards and we ended up with a smaller bull but still the hunt of a lifetime for my Father. It is funny how in the moment when you are trying to field judge these animals they always seem bigger. I remember convincing myself at the time that the bull in my spotter was at least 370 but when I got back to the photos I knew he was less.

Here is the bull my Dad ended up taking on the second to last day-calling this bull into him while bugling his head off was an experience I will never forget!

We have certainly became a spoiled generation if we are going to poo poo at that bull.

Congrats to your dad! That's a great bull.

Make no mistake on Poo-pooing this bull I think this is an awesome bull that I would love to have. I just believe that he came in smaller than the bull in the photo from my scope is all.

Next Question:

What is the trick to scoring these on the hoof? Where did you guys start when looking at these pics? Here was my strategy-I start with beam length overall and where that lines up on the body of the bull. Then I look at brow tines and work my way back. Any other tricks?

Great bull that your dad killed. I'm sure the memory of the hunt is far better than any size bull that you could have killed. But for score 350 type bull. Congrats and thanks for sharing.

355-365 gross. Look at the size of the bulls body next to the cows, and he is further away. A shooter with a muzzle tag.

I think he's a solid 350+ bull... With a muzzy, no way I'd be passing on him... :)
