Wow, what a smoker buck!

"Roadless areas, in general, represent some of the best fish and wildlife habitat on public lands. The bad news is that there is nothing positive about a road where fish and wildlife habitat are concerned -- absolutely nothing." (B&C Professor, Jack Ward Thomas, Fair Chase, Fall 2005, p.10).

There's an area I recognize. That's on the ridge just over from Dead Indian Pass NW of Cody looking west into Sunlight Basin. Hunted elk up there many times. Some of the prettiest country in Wyoming in my opinion...

HUGE buck, beautiful setting, couldnt get any better! Congrats

I heard it scored around 230--- and was shot near a road--- a friend who was guiding elk hunters in the area was my source-- I guess the guy saw the buck from the road and the pic tells the rest of the story

hello all

I'm the hunter in this picture. I just got logged in and a new user. Most of what has been said is right. Right place right time and pure luck.

It is stained the pics posted are not from the kill sight as he was only able to take two pics and the battery in his camera went dead. The blood came from sitting in the back of the truck. This is a great Wyoming buck its mainframe was 197 a stud of a buck.

With a Buck like that one you are more then welcome here
WOW WOW WOW WHAT A STUD and some really cool pictures tell more of the story even if it was luck you had to be there to have the luck
