O.K. fellas....I have two points in Wyoming but want to hunt an area this year that typically has 100% draw success. I don't want to burn my points on this new area, so I would like to put in for an area that I have a very poor chance of drawing as my first choice and hopefully pick up the tag as my second choice. Any suggestions for 1st choice? Ideally I would like the 1st choice like I said to have extremely poor odds, but be an area that would be quality with public land should I by a freak chance draw. I don't want to be guided so no wilderness areas. Thanks for any input.

Unit 82, 128, and 102 are the hardest to draw.
Region G and H are the hardest regions.
The best quality of deer doing a search on here seems to be 82 and 128 followed by 102.

Region H 15.33 47% 100%
Unit 82 0% 0% 1.36%
unit 102 .60% 1.58% 2.71%
unit 128 .52 .77 2.24%
So from looking at the data unit 82 is a sure bet on either end. If you draw you will get a chance at an awesome buck, but it will be very unlikely that you do draw. If you put in for G or H with the points you will get the tag. 102 and 128 probably again a good bet for your scenario.

Area 90 for deer. Dead serious this is a sleeper unit. Get those migrating bucks!

I hope they change the 2nd choice draw soon. It's BS that you should draw my or others first choice as your second and not loose your points.

I believe you can put in first choice for points and then draw your second choice area if it is available. This option would seem to make the most sense for you.

They did, 07 last year your points had weight on your 2nd choice in the draw. New this year weight is give only to the 1st choice 2nd choice goes to the regular draw <no points> so now you have to chances at your 1st choice one in perference point draw & 2nd choice in tne regular draw.
