Unit 2 Colorado

Lucky enough to draw the hybrid archery tag this year. I have spent some time in the area and have several more trips planned throughout the summer. Any one out there hunted it during the archery season that wants to share some stories/pictures?

Wow!! congrats! I have never been there, but I hear that is a great unit. you might get some haters with high points giving your carp for drawing that tag..

My hunting partner drew the archery NR tag this year. We will be there starting opening day.

did you see any deer on your scouting trips? I am interested in the archery deer tag there and wanted to know what people think of the deer potential. Thanks

I hunted that area back in 2011 for elk and had a blast. I found that during the summer there are tons of deer and some real giants right off the boulevard road. As soon as the season starts these bucks disappear. I currently have 11 deer points and won't be burning them in 2. The genetics are just not what I am looking for.

I have seen some impressive deer the last 4 weeks. I can't say what or where they will be come season as I have not been there in the fall. Snapped this picture back on June 16th. Looks like good potential for a big 'ol typical.
