I had spotted this buck 5 days before but decided to keep looking, I had my brother and another friend hunting with me too. They tagged out the next two days leaving me the one to decide when we would be heading home. With the weather not cooperating, 65+ each day, I decided to try to put the tag on him. Hunting private property allows you to glass lots of animals without having to worry about other hunters pushing them out of the area. We saw him each day, along with several other bucks, and were able to pattern all of them. Each day they were in relatively the same draws and this day was no exception. We spotted him at first light with a few other bucks and about 20 does, working up into the same draw I had seen him on day one. We hiked up a draw about 1/4 mile to the left of them to get on top and have a shot as the came over the ridge. As we were about to get to the ridge a doe and a 5x4 spotted us and bolted back the way they had come. We slowly hiked to the edge and spotted all of them moving down, my buck was in the middle. After I set the sticks up and got my gun on him they really took off strait down the draw. I steadied the gun and squeezed just before he went over the side hill, hitting him on a dead run. HE took a nose dive and cartwheeled down the hill to the bottom. We watched him for a couple minutes and was sure he was done. After getting down to him we noticed he had broken off his right side main and G4. Hes still a nice buck and we couldn't have asked for a better backdrop for a picture. Believe it or not that sky has not been touched in the photo.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-02-07 AT 09:20PM (MST)[p]I see the breaks now.....

great story.

no, if you look close you can see where the G4 is broke, the main broke off about the last 7" I have the end but it broke off twice, I was only able to find the end.
