Here are some pics of my european mount from my Colorado buck this year.

Here is the link to the original post if you didn't see it already:

I think mounting on a shed antler looks pretty cool. It turned out nice.

That is a great mount and the shed as the base is an awesome idea. When I was in Wyoming we came across an old homestead that had been abandoned for many years. My Dad and I picked up a couple boards that looked really old. I used mine to mount my antlers on for that year.

The mount looks great. I have been told by almost everyone that has seen my mount in person or pics of it that they were going to poach the idea. The only bad thing about my mount is the shed I used is a lot bigget then my buck.

Did you have your skull cleaned up with bugs?

Here is the mount that gave fuzzy the idea.

Hey NV4Life,

Thanks!! Yea, everyone really likes it; no, it wasn't cleaned with bugs, it was just boiled, powerwashed, and bleached white. It looks real nice I think. My brother is a taxidermist and he did it for me. I had a shed I really wanted to use for the mount but it was bigger than my buck plus, the spot where the skull needed to set was not even on that one so I would have had an uneven mount, so I went with the shed I did, plus being smaller makes my buck look bigger.

Wow great idea for a mount! Just a super cool way to display a nice buck! Great job.

How cool is that? AWSOME!!

I "once" tried to boil a bobcat head on my stove in the house.

Take my advise and don't try it. Ran me right outa my home and into my camper for a road trip with the stink.

The skull is attached to the shed through drilled holes into the base of the skull. We then attached a hanger to the base of the shed to hang it from.

I epoxied an eye loop insided the skull, drilled 2 holes in the antler and ran wire through the eye loop then throught the holes in the antler and twisted them together on the back side. then I dilled a hole just below the bur of the antler and hung it off a 8 penny nail with the head cut off.
