Maybe I should turn my 61 elk tag in

Because everywhere Spark and I go we see more bears than anything else. This weekend was no exception. I get the feeling bears are beginning to talk about us, " I was scratching my butt last week and I looked up and saw this guy and a little white dog staring at me". "Me too, I was munching on some Sarvis berries in the next canyon over and saw them. The little dog was standing on his hind legs to get a better look but he never said a word".

Mama bear, a nice cinnamon color, stood back and woofed at us while we stared at the cub.

I saw at least one bear every day on my 61 hunt two years ago. Enjoy it and hunt on...its really a great elk hunt.

Nesser, my comment about turning in my tag is very tongue in cheek. I've had a lot of fun scouting so far and since I live close to 61 I'm not surprised by the bears.

that's way to many bears, what kind of management does the dwr have????

Awesome color on that little fellow. Hopefully he keeps the color. Bears are always fun to see and watch. Good luck on the hunt. I'll be in the unit for elk on 1st season with two buddies that drew.

There are NO elk in 61. The fish and game might as well issue elephant tags there. With that being said I will be a friend and take that horrible tag off your hands. If the stars aligned right I could MAYBE find one elephant in that unit.
