I am planning on getting one of these sets mounted. Which one would you do?

Ryan,

I like the bottom one personally. They are all awesome!
Mount one and use the others somehow in the mount. Maybe on a pedestal.

Middle one but if you got the money get all 3 done :)

I like the 2nd one the best too.

But the other's sure would look good as Euro's!! ;-)

Skull Krazy

Would you all choose differently if you knew

The 1st one is 32+ wide and scores mid 190's
The 2nd one is 30 wide and scores mid 170's
The 3rd one is 27 wide and scores. mid 170's

Throw them all away!! But tell me where you live first:) I like the second for sure, all are great though.
thanks for posting them

I like the first one best. Gotta love those typicals.

i know...
you know how people put the screws in the sheds so they can attach them to a skull. Well do that to them... that way you can change the antlers whenever you want!
But i like the first one the best.

Thanks everyone for your input! I would love to mount all three but I'm afraid it would break my pocket book. The Taxidermist I like to go to is around $750 for a deer, but he is worth every penny!!

sweet sets i think i might have some video of the second one.

Regardless of score,
I would mount #2,
Euro the others.
Whatever you decide, they will all will look great!

By the way,
I live in UT.
There are a lot of UTARDS that live here.
I have also seen quite a few WYOMORONS, NEVADUHNS, COLORADORKS, ID-IOTS and AIRHEADZONANS in my travels.

You should mount the first one and send the others to me. I live on the coast and never get the chance to shed hunt muleys

Hey Eel

I'll bet if you send RCB $750, he will mount the top 2, and send you the 3rd set. :) Its a win win.

OH I know, mount the one you actually harvested!

Why the hell would anyone mount shed antlers on a cape of a 2 point they shot during the reg season?

If all else fails. Work on the joints -n- stuff

Hey Boy George
The reason guys mount up some of their big sheds is because they invested a lot of time, energy, money and effort into finding them. Much like hunting and killing something. Thats why they call it shed hunting. And the time spent with family or friends on these hunting trips mean a lot to them.

Back in 99', I hunted 4 days for a dream buck, killing a 32 inch 5x5. I had him mounted and couldn't be prouder. But in recent years, I've hunted weeks and even months for a certain monster set of sheds. And when found, they meant just as much to me as the buck I killed. Its a peronal preference. Not everyone would do it. But hundreds do. Just because you don't, I'm not going to criticize you, so don't criticize others who will.

Yelum

Yelum, i gotta admit that i was wondering the same thing as Georgie there. When i used to hunt out of state a lot, drops were common and it was no big deal to bring a couple dandies back to camp each day resulting in a pile to bring home. But you make a very good argument, well said, and i Thank You for bringing me up to date.

I like the looks of the second one best.

Post 13 had the best idea! Put the square posts in each set of antlers with the base that excepts them into the mount and interchange them as often as you like. Other wise mount the biggest one or the one that means the most to you. Maybe the the set that took you longest to get the match to...

Well said Yellum, some people just don't understand!
But thats ok more sheds for us.

Thanks again everyone!

well beings that you'll never shoot a buck as big as any of them, i'd mount it with inner-changable antlers. Unless you start going with Logan More then you might get a shot at a monster.HAHA

Middle one he has a funny goatee makes him a non-typical but they all look the same I would say he is not a trophy.. Looks like a buzz cut in the other 2 pictures... ha ha ha
