Just got home from a great hunt in the book cliffs. Had the wife, son, and some great friends to share this great hunt. We saw some great bulls some bigger and a lot smaller. It was to good to pass up for her first bull. My 9 year old was there for the 717 yard shot and and watched the bull drop with the first and only shot. Thanks to all that helped with the pack out. This hunt with my family and friends I will never forget!!!

I was very impressed with the shot until My Buddies wife hammered this bull the next morning at 1064 yards. Thanks Deeter's for letting me and the crew enjoy your hunt.

Impressive bull by an impressive distance shot. Well longer than I will shoot with my setup.

What'sthe status of the rut out there? I'm getting antsy to get out there for general season.

The bulls are ready but the cows were not. It was hot down there the bulls were screaming but I don't think it is in full swing yet. There were some bulls that were still running together and the little bulls were with the cows. I saw 2 groups of cows with 4 point bulls trying to run the show with big bulls just hanging around. Still thing the best is still to come.

Awesome bulls right there. And those gals shoot much farther than I ever will. Way to get it done..!! :)

That gun will hold a 3/4" at 200 yards . Codys custome guns did a great job thanks cody. The gun is a full custom steller action tac 300. And many hours of range time to fine tune him.. All worth it. I had the gun to spirt.ridge.the week befor and never missed a target to 1200 yards. That combo had more energy at 1000 yards than a 30.06 at the barrel. with all that being said it still takes somebody on the gun to make the shot. great job ladies way to show us how it's done

How much range time did the ladies have to have the confidence to take those long shots? Did you dial everything in and they got on the bench and pulled the trigger?

With the g7 rangefinder my 9 year old can dial that gun. To answer your question both shot a lot. And no bench but that would be nice so they don't need to lay down to shoot. There was no wind and great conditions for that shot. We shoot a lot so we all had the confidence for those shots. In the ladies and gun. Neither wife missed and hit right where they needed to.

I have never heard of the g7 rangefinder, I will check it out.
I guess if you have the right set up (rangefinder, optics, rifle) the 1000 yard shot is a definite possibility.
