Those are awesome pics. He's got that big head older bulls get. Helluva bull right there. Those bugling pics are the best.

What an amazing photo BCBoy. Thank you for sharing. I'll really like a full sized pixel image of to print, of the second image. It reminds me a lot of a bull I ran into on the way to Maligne Lake last summer.

Really outstanding images BC!

2lumpy,
Could be the same bull. I took these pics close to the turn off to Maligne. I hadn't seen this particular bull before but I did see another giant up towards Maligne earlier in the summer. Drove up that way this weekend to look for him and didn't see anything but caribou tracks. Wished I could have seen some of the herd standing in those tracks.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-18-14 AT 11:30AM (MST)[p]I bet this is the same big bull my wife and I saw back in 2012 during our visit up there. Same vicinity in the turn off to Maligne... He was big back then but now he is a giant!!! My wife had never experienced the bull elk rut and she was blown away by their bugling and chasing cows and other satellite bulls. It was sure an impressive sight to see all of the huge bulls in one location. Up CLOSE, too!!!
Thanks for the pics!

Great photos!!!

WOW!!! Cool photos. To get multiple like that is awesome, thanks for posting those! He's a real ball-dragger

What do you think BCBoy?

I think it is amazing I could travel 1300 miles from my home, see an elk and snap a random photo, then two years later see what is most likely the same elk, on someone else's post.

The truth is I never paid any attention to my photo of this bull after my trip. Don't think I ever even looked at it closely, until tonight. When I saw your pic. I just remembered a funky elk I'd seen near Migraine Lake, then when you said your pic. was along the same road I figured I'd ran through my old files to see if by chance I'd taken a picture that had a good view of his antlers and this is what I found.

I said I say this bull last summer but as I researched my photo files it was actually the summer of 2012, when I was on my way to Alaska, not 2013. If he's not the same bull he's a darn close relative.

Not need to wait on ole BCBoy Sage. His quality is superior to mine but while we're waiting maybe these can tide ya over. tee-hee I like BC's pict., gets great detail, don't mind at all where the critter resides.

We all got our interests bud, it makes for a colorful batch of misfits, don't ya thing?

These youngsters will have two more rings by now and be more picturesque.

2lumpy,
Very likely could be the same bull. He certainly was fun to watch all rutted up. He put the chase on several tourists. I waited for him to exit into the timber and knew I could get some good pics by the river. My daughter and I had him all to ourselves. Funny that we both ended up with very similiar captures. When we had enough and started walking back to the highway a tourist asked me where the bull was. I pointed him in the direction and then a few minutes later I hear yelling and turn around to see him running towards us with the bull hot on his tail. Too bad I didn't get a picture of that. :)

Joey,
I have never hidden the fact that some of my photographs are taken in National Parks. The fact is, 99% of the quality wildlife pics posted on this site are in National Parks or other non-huntable areas. Funny that you mention my sheep pics because all the Cali pics I take are of a huntable herd both under Limited Entry and First Nations. Most of my pics are taken in winter and spring when they are all batched up. No different than most winter range pics posted on the site. A lot of the critters I post pics of are indeed public land huntable animals. Hell, I've even killed some of those same animals. ;) Maybe instead of trying to constantly belittle anyone that doesn't agree with you on every topic, you could start posting pics too! I don't recall many pics from you. Lots of talk and little for pics. I post up gobs of pics every year on this site. i have been doing so for years and years. Over a dozen IIRC. I try to help make this site better. What do u do to make this site better?

Where do you think most of the animals posted up in the Photo Tours come from? Hmmmm, I wonder???

LAST EDITED ON Sep-23-14 AT 05:59PM (MST)[p]While you might like adding to your post count by saying 'Nice buck/pics. Thanks for sharing' I don't have the time right now. The last 3 months??? Hahaha! Try searching my posts from the last dozen or so years. Hahaha. I once had more time to log in here and chat back when I had more office time with other jobs. I was even a moderator here until I had to give it up due to lack of time. So if you are going to call me a liar, at least hit the search button and look further back than 3 months. Hahaha! Keep it up dude. You seriously like making a fool of yourself.

that first picture looks like elkassassin when the girl at 7-11 cut him off, and said no more dew!!!

LAST EDITED ON Sep-23-14 AT 07:40PM (MST)[p]Since you are a budding internet stalker, why don't you compare the number of posts I have over the last month and the number you have? How bout time logged in? I have barely been on the site since hunting season began. I'm too busy working, hunting and enjoying time with my family camping in some of the best wilderness on the planet. I have taken countless pics in the last month of my family and the backcountry we play in. I don't sit and watch the world pass me by logged onto the internet 24/7 like some. I'm out doing things. I have 3 years of HACs posted up on this site if you ever care to actually see what kind of life I lead. In those 3 years, not a lot of time for posting much more on this site. Unlike you, I have a life! This year, gobs of pics on my hard drive but I haven't posted much because I don't have much time in between all my adventures. When I do find a little bit of time, I post. You seem to watch and wait for those postings on baited breath. Get a life dude. Shut the computer off and go outside. You will feel much better.

Here is one of many pics from the last month of my daughter. No cell or internet here.

Not every critter shot with a camera needs to be big. I had a blast stalking these little critters in the highcountry this last month.

RE: Big Tame Bull In Rut

Here is an elusive spike/fork I was able to find a couple weeks ago. The season just started and hoping my son can punch his tag on this bull and fill our freezer with some amazing eats.

Jeez you guys...STOP IT, let it go! This has gotten beyond silliness. Trying to pigeon hole someone over the internet is just plain stupid. Justifying your existence on here is even more so...its pretty embarrassing, actually

But whatever, carry on if you feel so inclined...I think both of you are better men than to engage in this crap

Goddamn

Greatwestern,
Yes you are right but how do you make a bully stop? It seems every time I post something, this guy has an agenda to attack me. If this site had any moderation what so ever, they would nuke his attacks. But they don't so I am left with playing the game and trying to make bully come to his senses that I am not going to leave on account of him. I did not ask for his attacks. Nothing in the OP of mine had anything to do with Joey. All I did was share some pics of a nice bull in rut? How would you respond if someone felt a need to attack you every time you posted something? I have found fighting fire with fire seems to send the wannabes on their way in the past. Seems this one is a little more stubborn then others have been.

Joey,
lets do what Greatwestern suggest. Give it up. You have done what you wanted to my post, derail it. Are you man enough to walk away? I have not followed you around with every post you make. You are the one with the agenda. Are you man enough to drop it?

Nah dude, I've been run at by a few Grumpy Old Men on this site as well, from outta the blue...they like to pop in and have a stab here and there, for reasons usually unknown except perhaps to themselves...its really no big deal ya know, ya just let em have their internet fun :)

I think ol Sage is a good dude at heart, that might've misinterpreted something said in the past, I don't really know...but an old dog's pride dies hard ya know? Cut the cranky old bugger some slack :)

BTW---I for one enjoy the pics you post, keep at it and don't let one guys drama bug ya too much ;)

"cranky old bugger"? lol, i guess if the shoe fits... :)
