Well, Dad went in hoping for a bull to break 300", he passed that goal by a little bit :)
I showed him some bulls the night we got there between 330 and 370, his goal for the first half of the hunt then went up to 330. His number 1 choice was the 370 though, so plans were made to try and catch him heading to the timber early the next morning.
2 minutes into the season we had a 310-315 bull at 65 yards, he passed though. He passed on chasing bulls all morning but we arrived to the planned spot just in time to see the elk disappear over the top. Dad wanted to sit and wait for the #1 bull to come out because he was already exhausted and didn't want to sleep on the mountain due to being too tired to get down.

After a couple naps for each of us, 4:30 rolls around and this is what walks out :)

Getting out of sight and circling around, with wind in our face we crept over the top and spotted the herd. We snuck into the last bush, ranged him at 216 yards with no other options to get closer dad sets up for the shot. First attempt was a misfire! take down the gun, clear the barrel, reload and get back on him, 2nd shot and bull is down under 5 seconds after bullet leaves the barrel :)

After getting our hands on him, Dad talked me into thinking he was only around 340 with the short 2nds & 3rds but we were still ecstatic!

After we had him off the mountain, we got out the tape and cheers went up again as it came out to 364 :)
What an awesome way to kick off our year!
We have a CO hunt next week but this is his last fall chasing bulls, I sure hate hearing those words but sure am happy that he is able to stop elk hunting while on top!

There are many things that would be nice to wish for or say but then I would be just like him.

Congrats to your old man! I am not too far behind you before my dad starts slowing down, but he still has a few good hunts in him.
This is the reason I hunt!

That's an awesome bull! Congrats to your Dad and you. I hope i'm still hunting bulls at that age.

WOW fantastic bull! Congrats to your dad, and congrats to you for helping him take that HOGG.

May have had short seconds and thirds but he sure made up for it with everything else, congratulations.

Congratulations on a fantastic bull for your father! More importantly, congratulations on a fantastic father/son hunt. The memories are what matters most.

Thanks guys! I was able to video it too, so it will be awesome for him to go back and relive it over the years.
Got the true emotions immediately after the shot, lol

Well done guys!

Way to get it done on an awesome bull. Way to go after having the miss fire. What a grand memory.

Congratulations to your father on a great looking bull. Sounds like you hunted smart and hard and everything fell into place.

Those must have been some awful anxious moments after the misfire when you have to break down the gun and hope the bull didn't wander off!

My hunting spot is so secret, not even the elk have found it yet.
