Wasatch Early Bull 2015?

How was the early hunt on the Wasatch this year?

Unfortunately, I am a non-resident right now. Is it worth 13 points and $800 right now to pull the early tag on the Wasatch? I have lots of annual leave time I can use for hunting next year since I have not drawn anything for two years in Utah or Nevada.

My brother lives in Tabiona and I accompany him on spike and cow hunts about every year on the Wasatch. Two years ago during the spike hunt on the Wasatch I saw three solid bulls I would have shot. I am not looking for a 400 inch bull, just a nice six point will make me happy as long as I can spend two weeks on the mountain looking for a 400 inch bull with my family. I realize the hunt is not two weeks, but I would come before the hunt to scout the area.

I have had some experience on the archery hunt the last 3 years. IMO a 300" bull with a rifle won't be a tall mtn to climb. The biggest hurdle you will have will be the early date. You may want to take your higher points to a muzzy tag on a better unit. The rifle hunt ends sept. 20th next year. just some food for thought.

You got a few years before drawing the early tag. You might be closer with the muzzy tag.
