My family and I have been watching some good Bulls this year. We haven't been able to connect on any yet...so if anyone has a late manti tag and would like a hand we have got some studs located! Just itchin to get out and get one down!

Heck of an offer man! No doubt you will have good hunting karma in the future. I wish I had a late tag this year!

LAST EDITED ON Nov-10-14 AT 12:52PM (MST)[p]If you have a tag camotooth, you can pm me and I will tell you where I saw a good bull at. I know he made it thru the muzzleloader.

Pm me the location will ya. If it's him I have quite a few pics of him on the hoof I would be willing to share.

At 15pts I would have a decent chance to draw the early rifle tag next year, wasn't my original goal, but have a friend of a friend that could do some scouting for me as he lives close and likes to go look at the bulls. Any thoughts on what to expect and if those of you with experience in the unit think it would be a good use of all those points?

I don't know how much points it takes to draw what tags for a NR. I will say that for me (a resident) I would probably use 15 points elsewhere. Having said that there are some good Bulls up there, just maybe a little more sparse than some other units.

My buddy drew the tag last year with 14 points. I know of two 400 class bulls taken on the unit last year, but there is no longer a ton of 400 class bulls on this unit like 10 years ago. We were chasing a solid 370 class bull this year but could not seal the deal, we also saw a 350 bull but never got close enough for a shot. Also saw a solid 5x5 that I think would go 340 and would have shot the first day but never saw him when the hunt started. Saw several 310-330 bulls that we could have shot but passed. So it depends on what your looking for, the big bulls are there but few and far between, there are definitely a lot better units out there. No matter where you draw it's a hunt of a lifetime with memories that will last forever.

Utah is the only state I apply in that I set a goal of drawing one of the best tags offered, regardless of how long it takes. I'm staying busy drawing other states and gaining experience, so I may just keep putting in for the San Juan and hope the draw smiles on me one year before I get too old. Kind of tempted me though when I found out I could get some local help with the Manti tag. Thanks
