First DIY Hunt in Colorado Help

So I'm planning an archery DIY hunt to Colorado next September. I've never hunted outside my own state, and the vastness of Colorado's public land is somewhat mindblowing. That being said, I've (possibly) narrowed my search down to Units 63 and 65. I've been particularly interested in the area around Silver Jack Reservoir in Unit 65.

Does anyone have any experience in this region? Any advice to a newcomer would be appreciated.

BEARS in the campground @ the lake. That is what Silver Jack is infamous for. Lots of people hunt around there, some get elk. Some of the finest scenery in the state is from Silver Jack over Owl Creek Pass. Aspens are turning during the last 2 weeks of archery. Good eats down in Ridgway @ True Grit cafe. Try the green chile, pilgrim.
