How do you hang...

...your European elk mounts?

I've got a nice bull that I'd like to hang but I can't quite figure out what I want. It's going in a basement game (billiards) room so I'd like it to not stick out too far but I also have 7-8' ceilings to deal with. Any suggestions or better yet, pictures?

I've looked at the Skullhookers but to me it looks like they will stick too far into the room? I've also looked at a few other similar type mounts but I'm just not sure.

Thanks

I've also just hung em on a nail. The teeth bite the drywall and won't move if you dont have a drunk walkin into it. :D

To the left, thanks for asking......

In all seriousness, this has worked well for me. I keep telling myself to get rid of the dirty old rope and use leather or sinu....maybe someday?
It also sits flatter against the wall if you trim the back of the skull flat.

Bunch of comedians around here tonight...haha.

Well I sat and looked at the room for a bit and after several buds I decided a remodel would be best (stupid idea:)). I proceeded to rip out the built in (not very good) entertainment center that came with the house and knock down a wall.
I thought I was running out of room but now I doubled my wall space and have a bunch more real estate to work with, lol. Or I will when I finish.

I'd still like the head to be as out of the way as possible without it hanging perfectly vertical.
Thanks to those that posted and hopefully others will chip in.

DW, I owe you an apology. Sorry! It's just that I've been around here long enough to know that Pete is one of the good guys. The Skullhooker is the direction I'm leaning.

It's all good wbc! I got pete pegged the same way and didn't wanna see him get in a pickle! We pm'd each other after that post sure he knows where I was comin from. Need a carpenter for that remodel? :D

I'm expectin a pic when they're hangin on the new wall! Some pretty creative guys on here, hope we see some more ideas with pics! Good luck!

Will do.
I finished all the demo this morning now I've just got a bit of electrical to re work and then a bit of patching/painting type stuff.

I left a partial pony wall separating the family room and the pool room so I'm thinking I might incorporate a knotty pine log coming up through the wall (so it looks like it's growing there, visible from both rooms.)from the floor. I'm thinking it can stick up a foot or so above the pony wall and then I can cut the top at whatever angle to get the bull to fit properly. I'm envisioning like a head back sneak position pedestal mount...we'll see how it turns out.

While I'm in the destruct/construct mode I'd love to see some basement man cave pics. I know there are plenty of those threads but it's nice to have a new one every once in a while:).

Heck yeah buddy, I like that!!

Was that cut with a CNC machine? I've got a pile of euro deer and lope skulls I've got to figure out what to do with as well...hmm.

I still haven't mixed and applied taxidermy rock base to the bottom of this mount, but here is a euro I did. The Juniper sits in the corner of a basement room with 8 foot ceilings. Sorry for the grainy cell phone pic, but you get the idea.

I have a couple of the skull Hookers for deer. I have a elk that needs a little more adjustment to make it fit better in a room. I found a company called Skull Max that mounts there wall hanger on a ball type mount. It makes it so you have a lot more movement . Go to their web site and see if that will work for you.

How bout a better pic of how u cased out that window? Like the mount too by the way!
